Mailbox Monday
July 30, 2012
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia and hosted this July by Jennifer of Mrs. Q: Book Addict. I must be getting old because Mondays are coming faster and faster these days. Last week was another busy week and it included a wonderful author event I can’t wait to tell you about. I found these books in my mailbox:
Tuesday
- The Next Best Thing by Jennifer Weiner came from Atria Books
Wednesday
- The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King was a win from The Stephen King Project
Friday
- City of Women by David R. Gillham came from Penguin Audio
- Say You’re Sorry by Michael Robotham came from Mulholland Books
- Breed by Chase Novak came from Mulholland Books
Saturday
- The Black Isle by Sandi Tan came from Hachette Books
Did you find any goodies in your mailbox last week?

I think they all look like wonderful books. Have a great week!
Mondays are arriving faster for me too. I have this theory that as we age time accelerates just to make us think we are crazy!
I have City of Women too. I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been listening more than reading this summer so it arrived at the right time.
These are all new to me so I’m always excited when that happens because I’m sure to add some of them to my TBR list after your reviews!
City of Women? I’m intrigued.
I actually haven’t heard of any of these so it will be neat to hear what you think!
The Black Isle sounds rather interesting, as do a lot of the others that came your way this week. Fantastic mailbox this week!!

Great mailbox! I enjoyed The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon when I read it. Then I lent it to two friends who enjoyed it also. I think one day when I finally finish all the books in my TBR mountian, I will sit down and read nothing but Stephen King. He’s a favorite.
Enjoy your new books. Next Best Thing is on my wishlist. Happy reading!
Say You’re Sorry sounds good. Look forward to your thoughts!
Say You’re Sorry looks good. Look forward to your book thoughts.
Hi Kathy,
Michael Robotham is an author I am familiar with, although I didn’t know about ‘Say You’re Sorry’, which has gone onto my list right away.
Chase Novak isn’t an author that I have come across before, however ‘Breed’ sounds like a fantastic book and I can’t wait to read it.
Although it is not a book for me, I do love the cover on ‘A City Of Women’
Enjoy all your ‘finds’ this week.
Yvonne
I follow Weiner on twitter, and I’ve always wondered whether she’s as funny in her books as she is there.
Happy reading!
Oooh, who is the reader/narrator for City of Women? It seems like it’d make an amazing audio read!

Here is my post.
I just read Jennifer Weiner’s short story SWIM last night and was curious about THE NEXT BEST THING. But, as unbelievable as it may seem, I have never read one of her books, and when I looked at the reviews on Amazon, I’m not sure I should start with this latest!
