Wondrous Words Wednesday
Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where you can share new words that you’ve encountered or spotlight words you love. Feel free to get creative! If you want to play along, grab the button, write a post and come back and add your link to Mr. Linky!
My first word is from THE QUEENS OF ANIMATION by Nathalia Holt.
1. amity – “They stand as a tribute to amity, uniting the talents of two of the strongest female artists ever to work at the Walt Disney Studios.”
Amity means just what it sounds like – a friendly relationship.

This word is from SEPARATION ANXIETY by Laura Zigman
2. misophonia – “The idea, frankly, is tempting, since I felt claustrophobic with Gary in the room and in the bed: he is so big and unwieldy, and noisy, with his anxiety-related constant throat-clearing — a sound that causes me such annoyance that I self-diagnosed myself with a mild case of misophonia (‘Is marital misophonia an actual thing?‘ ‘Can marriage cause misophonia?‘).'”
Misophonia is a disorder where people have abnormally strong reactions to normal, everyday sounds humans make, such as chewing.

What words do you want to celebrate today?
I am so glad you reminded me of the word misophonia which I just heard last year or something. I totally have it! Meanwhile, Jim is hearing disabled, so it makes us a very bizarre pair! LOL
Great words today, especially the contexts where you found them. And I have a good word today for a change!

I bet many decades-married couples could have miild misophonia 😀

I like that word!
I should have known Amity
Misophonia is a great, new-to-me word! (Can anxiety cause constant throat-clearing?)
Amity is a beautiful word that I should use more often.
I’m also self diagnosing myself with misophonia 🙂
I have a little misophonia but only when I’m trying to fall asleep. Earplugs help!
