Mailbox Monday

September 16, 2019

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia and now hosted on its own blog.  No physical books again this week but that’s just fine since I got plenty of books at SIBA.  I did download one audio book, though.

I finished The Testaments over the weekend. I liked one of the perspectives more than the other two but I thought it was really good overall.

I have the audio download of The Testaments – looking forward to trying it – enjoy Kathy.

BTW – I started Dearly Beloved and am really liking it. Thanks for blogging about it.

I’m curious about Testaments . . . but I feel like I need to reread Handmaid’s Tale again. I read it when it first came out and though I remember the gist, I don’t remember the details. We’ve been watching the show, but I don’t know how much follows the book and how much is embellishment. Argh.

I hope you enjoy it. Can’t wait to see your books from SIBA!

Oh you are so lucky to have gotten a copy of the new Atwood book!

I got The Testaments, too…can’t wait to read it. Enjoy your week!

    Happy reading!

I loved The Testaments. Maybe I’m not the one to say, because I have The Handmaid’s Tale just about memorized, but I don’t feel like people need to reread it before reading this new one. It’s a self-contained novel, although there’s a perspective on some of the characters if you’ve read the other one.

I didn’t get any physical books this week either but did get 8 NetGalley approvals to add to my overflowing pile. Now to find the time to read them all!

Seems like a lot of people got The Testaments. I’m not sure if I’ll pick it up or not. I hope you enjoy it!

A book that not surprisingly is popping up everywhere.

I love the cover with its splash off green.
