I found a few new to me words in PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE by Ellen Hopkins.
1. dox– “Could be you once doxxed a particularly obnoxious teacher who displayed favoritism toward his white students.”
Dox is a verb that means to search for and publish private or identifying information about someone on the Internet, typically with malicious intent.

2. affray – “Step into the affray.”
Affray is an instance of fighting in a public place that disturbs the peace.

What words do you want to celebrate today?
Yes! “Dox” is a great new word. It was evidently invented in this century! A total internet word.
My new word for the day is “mahoosive,” but most of my post for my own Wordy Wednesday is about the very old word “authentic.” Link here:

Dox is new to me.
We are seeing dox in crossword puzzles now.
Didn’t know dox. Should have known affray (but didn’t).
Dox is new to me, but I’ll remember it for crosswords.
I knew both, so I’ll treat myself to a cupcake … Ha!
I’ve never heard of dox. I have heard “jump (or step) into the fray”, Fray means the same thing as affray, but I’ve never seen or heard it used as affray.
I have never heard of either one!
For anyone interested in words and how they get into dictionaries — don’t miss this:
“Word by Word: The Secret Life of Dictionaries” by Kory Stamper. Totally fascinating and very informative.

I knew dox, didn’t know affray but I did know fray which I see from Vicki’s comment that it’s the same as fray which I do know.
My post is https://jhohadli.wordpress.com/2018/08/16/book-reading-update/
I did now Dox, finally
I wasn’t familiar with dox but I did know affray.
