Wondrous Words Wednesday
Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where you can share new words that you’ve encountered or spotlight words you love. Feel free to get creative! If you want to play along, grab the button, write a post and come back and add your link to Mr. Linky!
This week’s words are from KILLING IT: AN EDUCATION by Camas Davis.
1. exudative – “The industry label for this kind of pork is PSE, or pale, soft, and exudative.”
Exudative is a discharge of certain elements of the blood into the tissues.

2. salumeria – “A new charcuterie business in town, Olympia Provisions, the very first USDA-inspected salumeria in Oregon, passed slices of their charcuterie out to the audience of about forty people while they watched Dominique and Adam work.”
A salumeria is a food producer and retail store that makes and sells salumi, which are meat products of Italian origin that includes sausages, cold cuts, and other foods predominantly made from pork.

What words do you want to celebrate today?
Looks like this is a book for people about to become vegetarians! LOL
Salumeria — good word! I remember learning it from Mario Batali when his cooking show was really about food, not about being an alpha male!
This week, for my Wordy Wednesday, I wrote about French food idioms that I learned in a neat history book:

No clue for either one!
Interesting words today – didn’t know either one.
I always like celebrating your words because they are always unique! I only knew salumeria because one of the restaurants we love has a salume platter…
Both are new to me!
Those are certainly new to me
Both are new to me. I looked up the book and it sounds interesting.
I didn’t’ know either of these words, Kathy!
I imagine a book about a butcher would have a lot of words I wouldn’t know!
