April 16, 2017

Even though it’s Easter and a day of celebration for many, I couldn’t let the day pass without remembering the victims of the shootings at Virginia Tech ten years ago today.  It’s a day I’ll never forget and I hope others won’t either.  I wish we would learn from these tragedies so we could prevent this kind of heartbreak in the future.  Lest we forget, the 32 who lost their lives that day are:

Such a senseless tragedy. Prayers of remembrance for all who lost their lives and prayers of comfort to the families and friends. The passage of time does not dim the pain.

Thanks for the reminder, Kathy. Sometimes we get too wrapped up in books and forget the things that really matter.

A terrible tragedy and, unfortunately, not the only one. I agree, when will we learn from these horrible experiences?!

Oh thanks for the reminder. It’s etched in my heart, that awful day. I was living in Va then and our next door neighbors had gone to Tech. Oh I’m so sad for the victims and everyone who experienced the loss.

Thanks for sharing. This is devastating. Columbine occurred on April 20th, so that’s coming soon. It’s just awful.

With two kids in school, I worry about incidents like this. We had several similar shootings here in Montreal. And it breaks my heart when I see this happening more and more often.

Sadly, I feel like we never really learn from these tragedies, at least as far as real change goes 😦
