Wondrous Words Wednesday

January 25, 2017

Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where you can share new words that you’ve encountered or spotlight words you love.  Feel free to get creative!   If you want to play along, grab the button, write a post and come back and add your link to Mr. Linky!

LONER by Teddy Wayne had a few more new to me words.

1. insufflation – “It was easier than I thought, and I mimicked the others, tilting my head back when the line had vanished and continuing the insufflation.”

Insufflation is the act of blowing something into a body cavity.

2. ambit – “I expanded the ambit of my study to include Beta.”

Ambit is the scope, extent, or bounds of something.

What words do you want to celebrate today?

I think I’ve heard ambit before. I’m going to try to remember that one because it seems like a concept that I could use. Less sure that insufflation is going to make it into my daily conversation.

I agree with Joy on ambit. I like the sound of it and it seems to fit the definition.

I had some really good ones in my book but I can’t find them.

Blowing something into a body cavity sounds like it could be pretty gross! Lol

More words from LONER? I wonder if I’ll be able to make sense of the book.
