Review: The Bad Guys

November 4, 2016

Everyone thinks the Big Bad Wolf is a monster and he’s fed up.  He says:

Well, let me tell you something, buddy — Just because I’ve got BIG POINTY TEETH and RAZOR-SHARP CLAWS and I occasionally like to dress up like an OLD LADY that doesn’t mean . . . I’m a BAD GUY.

The Big Bad Wolf is determined to do something about his poor reputation so he gathers a group of friends like Mr. Snake, Mr. Shark, and Mr. Piranha and forms The Good Guys Club.  They set out to become heroes and have some hilarious adventures along the way.

Early readers are going to love THE BAD GUYS by Aaron Blabey with its silly (and sometimes a little crude) humor and fabulous illustrations.  The storyline is cute and is a whole lot of fun.  It may even make kids think about the value of reputations.  I think the book will appeal to boys in particular and will be a great book for reluctant readers.

THE BAD GUYS is the first book in a fun that is sure to be a hit.  This series has already been published overseas and the first book will hit the US market at the end of the year.  If you know any early readers, you’ll want to check it out.

It definitely seems like something more boys would gravitate towards, but that’s great because they need more books FOR them. Get them into reading more and then branch out.
