August 1, 2016
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia and now hosted on its own blog. Last week was busy but fun! Carl and I made a spur of the moment trip to Richmond and, after we got back, my friends and I won at trivia! I’m looking forward to a slower pace this week. I found these goodies in my mailbox last week:
Monday
- Werewolf Weekend by B. A. Frade and Stacia Deutsch came from LB Kids
Wednesday
- The House Between Tides by Sarah Maine came from Simon & Schuster
- When Penny Met POTUS by Rachel Ruiz came from Candlewick
- The Altogether Unexpected Disappearance of Atticus Craftsman by Mamen Sanchez came from Simon & Schuster
- Valley of the Moon by Melanie Gideon came from Random House
- Star Wars Jedi Academy: A New Class + swag by Jarrett J. Krosoczka came Big Honcho Media
Saturday
- Marrow: A Love Story by Elizabeth Lesser came from Harper Collins
- Commonwealth by Ann Patchett came from Harper Collins

Great mailbox! I’m curious about Ann Patchett’s new book. I’ve read and enjoyed her previous books although she has a penchant for bad endings.
I don’t take a lot of ARCs. But I did grab Ann Patchett’s latest. I think she is a very good author.
Congrats on your trivia win! Happy reading!
A good assortment of books and most I haven’t heard of. Curious about The Altogether Unexpected Disappearance of Atticus Craftsman. Quite the title!
Sounds like you had a fun week! All your books look good to me, Valley of the Moon in particular. Hope you enjoy them all!
Congrats on the trivia win 🙂 Commonwealth is such a great read – you are going to really enjoy it.
Looks like fun mail!
I will have to tell my brother about the Star Wars one, he is a huge fan.
Hi Kathy,
As usual, you have a great mix of genres to choose from this time, although I particularly have my eye on ‘The House Between Tides’.
Favourite cover art has to go to ‘The Altogether Unexpected Disappearance of Atticus Craftsman’, although ‘Valley Of The Moon’ comes a close second in a very different way.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week 🙂
Yvonne.
The House Between Tides! I really want to read that one. As well as Valley of the Moon. Enjoy your new books, Kathy!
