Wondrous Words Wednesday
May 25, 2016
Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where you can share new words that you’ve encountered or spotlight words you love. Feel free to get creative! If you want to play along, grab the button, write a post and come back and add your link to Mr. Linky!
I found one new word in The Children by Ann Leary. I was able to figure the word out from the context but thought I would share it here since it’s so much fun.
1. listicle – “‘Mostly, I write, well, listicles,’ I said, but I sort of mumbled it.”
A listicle is an article on the Internet presented in the form of a numbered or bullet-pointed list.

I love that word!
I could actually use that word often!
What a great word! I love writing listicles 🙂
I had a shot at 100% today – and failed.
I like this word too. I find lots of listicles as I cruise the web.
I’m with Lloyd … failed this one!
And I love reading listicles.
Great word!
(P.S. I had not heard this term before!)
What a great word.
Love to say this word.
Hi Kathy,
You only needed to produce one word this week, when it is as good as ‘listicles’ 🙂
I’m with everyone else in not knowing this one. although as I live by ‘to do lists’, I guess I have been ahead of the trend for a change and have been writing listicles for years 🙂
Thanks for sharing and hosting WWW
Yvonne
I wasn’t familiar with that one either when I read that. Fortunately, the author cleared it up for me!!
As a chronic list-maker, I’m glad Yvonne encouraged me to come check out your word this week. I like it! In fact, I guess you could say I publish “listicles” on my blog at times.
Cool 🙂
I’m a big fan of listicles though I never use that term. Good one!
Is Listicle an app?!
