Wondrous Words Wednesday

I found one word in The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
1. lovelily – “Snowflakes of ash fell so lovelily you were tempted to stretch out your tongue to catch them, taste them.”
When I first saw this word, I thought it was a typo or a German word but I was wrong. Lovelily means in a manner to excite love; amiably

I wonder how many times I’ve encountered lovelily and just skipped over it, thinking it a typo? Amazing!
My words this week are musical. 🙂
I don’t remember that. I probably also saw it and passed right over it, thinking it read “lovely” or something.
Makes me think of “loverly,” from My Fair Lady.
I missed it too, while reading The Book Thief. Often I lament about editing and typos, maybe, just maybe, they are new wondrous words!
I had no idea!
Glad that you caught it.
I don’t think I’ve ever come across this word!
This word really does sound very made up!
I have never seen that one around
That’s a new one for me. I’ll bet my eyes just saw lovely. Good catch Kathy.
What a lovely new word. Are you enjoying The Book Thief?
I think I too thought it was a type o when I read the book. thanks
I also missed this word when I read this book. Excellent word to know!
It does look like a typo! You definitely read more carefully. I bet I just flew past that one because it’s so close to lovely!
