Wondrous Words Wednesday

March 23, 2016

Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where you can share new words that you’ve encountered or spotlight words you love.  Feel free to get creative!   If you want to play along, grab the button, write a post and come back and add your link to Mr. Linky!

My friend Jill of Rhapsody in Books clued me in on a terrific site for polishing your vocabulary – vocabulary.com!  This fun site features multiple-choice quizzes that test your knowledge and unlock achievements for an added incentive.  The quizzes become more advanced as you progress.

Vocabulary.com is free to use and can create quizzes geared specifically towards you – simply paste a list of words or some text and it does the rest.  You can use this site on your computer, phone, or tablet so you can take it wherever you go.

If you want to increase your vocabulary or help your kids expand theirs, you’ll want to check this fun site out!

I haven’t “played” at vocabulary.com in a while, but it’s great fun, and probably a better use of time than playing on, say, freecell solitaire as I often do!

Sounds like a great app! Thanks for sharing. Would you consider converting this post into a guest post I could use at Diary of a Word Nerd? Sounds like something my readers would like!
