Review – Big Nate: Thunka, Thunka, Thunka
Sixth grader Big Nate is back and better than ever. Nate is full of mischief and can’t seem to stay out of trouble, especially at school. When Gina, his nemesis, bets him that he can’t go a whole week without getting a detention, he takes her up on it. If he wins, he gets ten dollars; if Gina wins he has to be her personal servant for a whole day. Has Nate bitten off more than he can chew?
Big Nate: Thunka, Thunka, Thunka by Lincoln Peirce is another fun book in the Big Nate series. Nate is sarcastic and overly confident but I can’t help but like him. Each page in this fun book is like a separate comic, but they all come together to tell a story. There’s lots of humor and a few laugh out loud moments as well as some fun pop references. Middle grade students on up will enjoy this fun book!
I will link this up to Booking Mama’s Saturday feature, Kid Konnection. If you’d like to participate in Kid Konnection and share a post about anything related to children’s books (picture, middle grade, or young adult) from the past week, leave a comment as well as a link on her site.
I know you’ve always loved this series – I bet you are the Blogger Expert on these books!
Sounds like a fun series.
I just got this one in the mail — looks adorable. I’ll have to see if I can get Booking Son to read it!
I am now wondering if this is the old big Nate from the older books? My second graders used to love these books. I love this new updated one!
I’ve never tried these books, but they do sound fun. I can see why you like Nate.
Sounds like a fun series.
Nate sounds like a fun series for middle schoolers.
Have a great weekend, Kathy!
I’ll have to keep this series in mind for when my son gets a little older. 🙂
I haven’t read any of these but they sound really cute! Glad you enjoyed the latest installment.
I remember Anna’s daughter used to love these books.
