Review: The Journey of the Penguin
The Journey of the Penguin by Emiliano Ponzi is a beautifully bound and illustrated picture book for book lovers of all ages. Without any words, Ponzi imagines the journey a lonely penguin makes from Antarctica to London where it spots an advertisement for a new publishing company seeking a mascot. The penguin performs well at the audition and gets the job, forever changing its life.
Published to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Penguin Books, The Journey of the Penguin is sure to be a collector’s classic. Ponzi does a wonderful job telling the story though his illustrations. I read through it quickly the first time and then went back to savor each picture. This would make a great gift for the book lovers in your life.
This does look like a great gift. If I were a penguin, I think I’d way rather live in London than Antarctica.
What a cute book! I know the book lover in me wants a copy!
What a good concept – one I’d like for sure.
