River Road

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia and now hosted on its own blog.  I received one book last week and managed to finish two so it was a win all the way around!  I’m still getting used to it being 2016 – it seems like just yesterday everyone was worried about Y2K and here it is 16 years later.   I found these goodies in my mailbox last week:

What did you find in your mailbox last week?

OMG, the Y2K thing seems like ages ago on the one hand, and yet, gaaah, 16 years? how is it possible?!!!

I can remember the preparations for Y2K and how it all fizzled like a damp squib! I am reading very well in 2016 despite an overload of stuff.

Always a win when you read more than gain …

Oh, and yes, it does seem like yesterday about Y2K….people stocking up on food and water and expecting the worst. So glad that didn’t happen!

Yes, time sure flies! I remember I was just a few weeks from having a baby on Y2K NYE – it was an exciting time! Enjoy your new book and congrats on your reading progress so far 🙂

LOL about Y2K for sure. Can’t believe it is 16 years later, and we are all still here and in tact.

ENJOY your book and reading week.

That looks good! The older I get the more I realize that time is finite and we’ve only got so much of it. I’m hoping my reading will reflect that this year as I give up on bad books 🙂

Oh gosh, I remember Y2K. My old, old computer went to 1984, but it was fine!

Slow week for you. Happy reading

I have read great reviews on this one, I have added to my TBR list.

Where does the time go! I was just thinking about Y2K when I was listening to Ted Koppel’s new book, Light’s Out, about the vulnerability of our power grid. Much scarier than a Y2K meltdown.
