I found two words in Pledged by Alexandra Robbins.
1. salutary – “Instead of being an undesirable thing as many pessimists would have us believe, the clique, as established by the sorority, is a most salutary arrangement for grouping college girls into congenial coteries.” — The Sorority Handbook, 1907
Salutary means producing good effects, beneficial.

2. plenary – “’The Values Institute’ held on the second day of the conference, was comprised of a series of plenary and breakout sessions on the four pillars.”
In this case, plenary means to be attended by all participants at a conference or assembly, who otherwise meet in smaller groups.

What words do you want to celebrate today?
I can see that sorority handbook comes from the past, LOL
I knew salutary, but not plenary.
Plenary is a word I’ve seen, but never knew what it meant. I thought it had something to do with punishment!
I was 2/2 – in terms of knowing the words. But 0/2 in defining them!
Well, both were unfamiliar to me. I am sure I would have had to look them up if I had come across them in reading. Thanks for hosting this meme. I enjoy it a great deal.
I can never ever ever remember to jot down words! Sigh!
You always manage to find something 🙂
I knew salutory but plenary was new and interesting to me. Thanks for sharing!
I drew a blank on both!
I thought plenary had something to do with government. I’m not sure why. Both interesting words today.
Both are new to me!
New ones for me too!
I find “salutary” easy to understand.
Both words were new to me as well! I enjoyed reading your WWW post. 🙂
Under the definition for ‘salutary’ I love the expression ‘congenial coteries’ (it sounds so cozy and elegant). 🙂
