Review – Mariella Mystery Investigates: A Kitty Calamity
When all the cats in town start disappearing Mariella and the rest of the Mystery Girls get to work. The girls come up with a few theories and set out to solve the mystery. Things get hectic as more and more cats disappear but the girls never give up and finally solve the mystery!
Mariella Mystery Investigates A Kitty Calamity by Kate Pankhurst is a wonderful addition to the Mariella Mystery series. The book stands alone just fine but young readers will be happy to know there are more Mystery Girl books to read.
Mariella takes notes as she investigates the mystery and the book includes pages torn from her journal as well as newspaper clippings. The addition of adorable drawings enhances this fun book! This is one of those children’s books that doesn’t feature many adults and I did have to suspend disbelief a time or two but it never bothered me. I didn’t figure the ending out ahead of time but found it satisfying. This is a great book for young mystery lovers, especially girls.
I will link this up to Booking Mama’s Saturday feature, Kid Konnection. If you’d like to participate in Kid Konnection and share a post about anything related to children’s books (picture, middle grade, or young adult) from the past week, leave a comment as well as a link on her site.
