Mailbox Monday
August 17, 2015
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued, and now hosted on its own blog. Since Vance was out of town last week, I spent most of my time at the store. Even so, I managed to read a few books and, since not much appeared in my mailbox, my book pile didn’t grow. I found these books in my mailbox last week:
Monday
- Edgar and the Tree House of Usher by Jennifer Adams came from Gibbs Smith
Wednesday
- The Three-Year Swim Club by Julie Checkoway came from Grand Central Publishing
What did you find in your mailbox last week?

Unusual to find you with such a light mailbox. Both books new to me. Enjoy your reads and have a good week
Yay for a non-growing book pile. My shelves desperately want to go on a diet!
Have a lovely week!
I also got only two books last week. I don’t mind as it allows me to make a dent in my existing TBR mound.
I am hearing a lot about Jennifer Adams these days. Curious to know what these books are about. They seem to be based on old classics, looks like.
I picked up the The Three-Year Swim Club at BEA, it sounds so interesting.
I got one of the Edgar books, too. I love the idea of a little raven named after Poe – can’t wait to read the book!
The Three-Year Swim Club looks great to me. It must be a nice break for your bookshelves to have a relatively quiet mailbox 🙂 Enjoy your week, Kathy!
Hope you enjoy your new books…probably your lightest mailbox ever! LOL
Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog. Have a great week!
One of the emptiest mailboxes I’ve seen of yours. Nothing in mine, but several e-ARCs were approved and downloaded.
Lighter mailboxes give us time to catch up with reading! 🙂
The Three-Year Swim Club sounds really good, with an inspiring story. Enjoy your new books!
Sometimes an empty mailbox is a great thing!
Hi Kathy,
A small, yet completely diverse mailbox this week.
Whilst neither of your books would be something I would personally read, they are both quite intriguing, particularly the concept of the classics for babies … I would really like to know what you think of that idea?
I did try to check out Jennifer’s website, bit it does look as though it has been seriously hacked, so I decided to steer well clear for a while!
Thanks for sharing, enjoy both of your books and I hope that you manage a slightly more relaxing week 🙂
Yvonne
Ah, funny I saw these on LT before the blog! :–)
I loved The Fall of The House of Usher. Is that similar? Going to check out this book.
ENJOY you books and your reading week.

Happy reading 😀
Enjoy! your new books, they look interesting.
I was almost relieved for my empty mailbox. Have a good week!
My pile did not grow over the last four weeks of my being gone.
Nice, light mailbox, Kathy! Enjoy your reading this week.
only two! actually it was probably quite nice for you to have less and so enjoy a slower read
Edgar and the Tree House of Usher by Jennifer Adams sounds like a good one for my daughter and I to share!
Edgar and the Treehouse of Usher sounds cute!
Haven’t read any of Poe’s books but I do like the idea of the Edgar book. Will check it out soon after I read some Poe.
I’m excited about the 3 YEAR SWIM CLUB!
