Mailbox Monday
August 3, 2015
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued, and now hosted on its own blog. August is here which means we might get some relief from this heat soon. We’re already noticing a little difference in the air during our morning walks. I’m not ready for summer to end yet but would like it to be a little less intense! I found these books in my mailbox last week:
Monday
- Not Black and White by G. A. Beller came from Tandem Literary
- Black Earth: The Holocaust as History and Warning by Timothy Snyder came from Penguin Random House
Tuesday
- Silent Creed by Alex Kava came from Penguin Random House
Wednesday
- Radioactive by Lauren Redniss came from Harper Collins
- book club set of Newport by Jill Morrow came from Harper Collins and Book Club Girl
- The Dressmaker by Rosalie Ham came from Penguin Random House
Thursday
- Rainy Day Sisters by Kate Hewitt came from Penguin Random House
What did you find in your mailbox last week?

Newport looks great! I’ve noticed here that the days are getting longer so that means that summer must be coming to us now 🙂
We had a beautiful day yesterday, and the early morning air feels a little cool today, although I think it’s going to get hot! Pictures of piles of books are starting to make me feel anxious, probably because I seem to have gotten into another blogging slump, so I hope you enjoy your weekly pile!
We still have hot and humid but I’ll take that over the inevitable freezing cold and snow that will be here in a few months (too soon). I see a few books that I hope to read. Enjoy!
Oh looks like some good ones. I haven’t opened my book mail from last week yet, so I don’t know what I’ve got. … that’s on tap for tonight or tomorrow.
Newport looks good… I love books with that setting!
Looking forward to your review of Rainy Day Sisters and The Dressmaker
Both The Dressmaker and Rainy Day Sisters look really good to me.
I have seen numerous bloggers with Not Black and White I want to see your review for that. Rainy Day Sisters is another one that I have been seeing a lot of. Have a great week!
Mailbox Monday #2
The Dressmaker and Rainy Day Sisters also caught my eye! It doesn’t cool off here until right around Halloween – summer goes on and on. Have a good week, Kathy!
I did find Newport in my mail stack when I returned from vacation!! I received Rainy Day Sisters too and a few more.
Newport caught my eye from your stack. I’ll have to look for that one. Enjoy your new books, Kathy!
Silent Creed is near the top of my wishlist as I read the first in the Creed series a few months ago and enjoyed it highly. Of course I’m a dog lover so that played into how I felt, but even non-dog lovers can enjoy this story. I don’t think you needed to have read the first one to get a handle on it. Ms. Kava is good about presenting some back story, at least with her other series.
I’ve been wanting Not Black and White…and now I’ve been drooling over Rainy Day Sisters. Enjoy! Thanks for visiting my blog.
I have read all the descriptions of the books, but at first glance I thought, hmm… Radioactive, The Dressmaker and the Sisters, a perfect description of my family. Enjoy!
Looking forward to Silent Creed!
I’m especially curious about The Dressmaker and Rainy Day Sisters. Happy reading!
Newport looks tops on my list! enjoy Kathy
ENJOY all of your books. The Dressmaker looks good.

My Mailbox Monday
I received Not Black and White, your other books look interesting.
happy reading 😀
Must get my hands on Newport! It’s where I will be for the next two weeks. 🙂
They all look great…especially Newport!
I can’t wait to hear what your book club thinks of Newport.
I am interested in Newport. Looks like an interesting historical novel.
What a nice haul! I haven’t read Kava in quite some time. Enjoy your reading.
I’ve just started the second in the Outlander series. Dragonfly in Amber. So far so good. have you read any of these?
Radioactive seems really intriguing. Marie Currie is one of those scientists that I loved learning about. She made everything seem possible to me as a little girl.
I turned down a few of these same books because I am so far behind. I’ll look forward to reading them vicariously through your reviews!
Not Black and White is on my tbr list! Enjoy your books!
Radioactive is great!
Enjoy your new books!
We didn’t get many of the same ones this week. Enjoy!
