Mailbox Monday
July 27, 2015
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued, and now hosted on its own blog. Last week was busy but also a lot of fun. My book club had our best discussion/meeting ever on Wednesday and I attended a Coloring, Cocktails, and Conversation at Fiction Addiction on Thursday. I discovered that I’m really good at cocktails and conversation but not so great at coloring. Still, it was a super event! I found these books in my mailbox last week:
Monday
- Saving Sophie by Ronald H. Balson came from St. Martin’s Press
- Into the Valley by Ruth Galm came from Soho Press
Wednesday
- Outrage by John Sandford and Michele Cook came from Penguin Random House
- The Making of Home by Judith Flanders came from St. Martin’s Press
Friday
- Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica came from Harlequin
- Newport by Jill Morrow came from Harper Collins
What did you find in your mailbox last week?

Sounds like a fun week! I bet you’re better at coloring than you think – keep at it 🙂 I just finished Pretty Baby last week- a good mystery. Newport and Into the Valley caught my eye. Enjoy all your new arrivals!
Saving Sophie and Newport look great. I like the idea of cocktails and colouring!
Those are such interesting and different titles. What will you choose first?
The Fiction Addiction event sounds like a blast! I’d probably be better at cocktails and conversation as well 🙂 Enjoy your new books – I think Newport looks good!
Love your collection of new books. I have my eye on Pretty Baby. Enloy!
I feel like I’ve seen Newport around and it caught my interest when I read the blurb. Have a great week!
I’m glad you had such a fun week. All of your books look great! I will look forward to your reviews.
All your books new for me. Interesting mix of reads
You have a great lineup of books. Saving Sophie sounds like it might interest me and I have read other John Sandford, but not this newest series. Happy Reading.
Nice books – hoping for a copy of Newport:)
I’m not so great at coloring either! LOL
Coloring, Cocktails, and Convention sounds like a lot of fun! Coloring is becoming the new “big” thing again.
I loved Pretty Baby…and I’m curious about Saving Sophie. Enjoy your lovely books, and thanks for visiting my blog.
I was telling my husband the other day that I should try my hand at coloring–I used to love doing it. I can just use my daughter’s crayons and pencils and her coloring books. LOL I’d probably be better at coloring in her coloring books than some of the adult coloring books that are out now–so intricate and complex.
Your new books look good. I have only heard of one of them. I hope you enjoy the books!
Hi Kathy,
I would definitely be better at the colouring than the conversation and as I don’t really drink, probably better than the cocktails as well!
Your first book ‘Saving Sophie’ had me reaching for the ‘Want To Read’ button at GR. However I am pleased that I managed to restrain myself, as I saved that all important vote for ‘Pretty Baby’, which sounds brilliant and a ‘must read’ for me … I do love a good thriller 🙂
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your week.
Yvonne
A nice mailbox, I received Newport last week, looking forward to reading it.
I was looking up adult mandala coloring books yesterday
Happy reading 🙂
Have just seen a book by Mary Kubica. I like your stack.
Fiction Addiction looks like a good place for an addiction. Cocktails and books!
Thank you for sharing all those books! I think almost all of them went on my TBR! I also asked for a couple of them through Netgalley! Once again thank you so very very much!
Happy Reading.
Coloring, Cocktails, and Conversation sounds like such a fun event!! I’m not the best at coloring either, never have been. Now conversation and cocktails are just my speed 🙂
Coloring, Cocktails, and Conversation sounds like so much fun!! At least the cocktails and conversation part 🙂
Kathy, enjoy your new books!
Love the ‘Great Gatsby’ sound of Newport – such a stylish cover too. Enjoy them all Kathy.
PS: I’d stick to the cocktails and conversation also 😉
I also received Saving Sophia! I hope you enjoy your books. Coloring, Cocktails, and Conversation sounds like a good one.
We had a lot of duplication this week! Coloring is supposed to be relaxing! 🙂
I want to read Newport, and I used to love coloring.
Nice mailbox as usual.
ENJOY them all. I received Newport last week too.

Oh, Newport sounds great! I’m still on the fence about reading Pretty Baby, but I’m definitely tempted and I’ve heard a few good things about it already. Happy reading!
Newport looks very good. I think it may be waiting for me at home.
I’m curious about Saving Sophie. Happy reading!
Looks like lots of great books this week. I need to add Saving Sophie to my wish list. Thanks for visiting The Busy Mom’s Daily.
