Mailbox Monday
April 13, 2015
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued, and now hosted on its own blog. Another week has flown by. To be honest, I’m rather glad it’s over because I felt unsettled all week. Spring is definitely here and, for us, that means lots of pollen and rain – in fact they’re calling for rain all week here. Hopefully that means we’ll see lots of May flowers. I found these books in my mailbox last week:
Tuesday
- No Better Friend by Rebert Weintraub came from Hachette
- Off the Page by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer (and a cookie) came from Random House
Wednesday
- The House of Hawthorne by Erika Robuck came from Penguin
- The Unfortunate Importance of Beauty by Amanda Filipacchi came from W. W. Norton
- The Wrong Man by Kate White came from Harper Collins
- Bad Kid by David Crabb came from Harper Collins
- Five Nights in Paris by John Baxter came from Harper Collins
Friday
- The Book of Speculation by Erika Swyler came from St. Martin’s Press
What did you find in your mailbox last week?

It rained here nearly all week last week – my colleagues and I nearly went crazy, not being able to go outside!
Lovely books – The Wrong Man looks really good.
The cookie is a nice touch!
I got some of the same things as you last week. I missed that dog book, though.
A nice, fat mailbox. All books new to me. Enjoy them all!
The House of Hawthorn is an historical novel I’d love to read. Also I’d spend five days in Paris, with your guide book along, lol.
You always have the most amazing mailbox! All titles are new to me. Hope you enjoy each and every one.
I got Eyes on You by Kate White about a year ago (I think). I had never read anything by her, and didn’t even know who she was. But I really liked it.
Oh, I love the look of The Wrong Man….can’t get enough of psychological thrillers. Enjoy your books! And thanks for visiting my blog.
I love the sound of The Unfortunate Importance of Beauty! Have a great week.
Cute cookie! And the books don’t look bad either 🙂 Happy reading!
These all sound great, but I’m especially curious about Five Nights in Paris. Happy reading!
The cookie is a great touch!
They all look good, and love the cookie from Random House!
Book of Hawthorne is landing in a lot of mailboxes this week, and The Book of Speculation sounds interesting too. I hear you about being glad last week ended.
For a minute there, I thought there’s another Book of Speculation? Before realizing the other one is Dept. of Speculation. Enjoy your books (and the cookie)!
I also received The House of Hawthorne and can’t wait to dig in. Love the cookie!
We had a few sunny warmer days here, hope you get some to, a nice mix in your mailbox.
I got caught in the rain today on lunch break while leaving Barnes & Noble. I love the selections. I know the cookie will taste as good as it looks!!
Awesome books 🙂
You got great books! That cookie was a nice bonus 🙂
Awesome mailbox. There are quite a few that I would love to snatch up. 🙂
Love the star cookie.
ENJOY your reading week.

My Mailbox Monday
Beautiful books and a cookie too? Enjoy 🙂
I have several of these on my TBR list. You’re lucky to receive them in advance.
HERE’S MY MONDAY
Delightful looking books. I read and loved Speculation…it’s the kind of book I love!
I’ve got several of these on my TBR list, too! I’ve stopped requesting review copies for now, though, because I can’t keep up!
I am curious about many of these. I will “check them out”. Have a good week/reading week, Kathy.
Five days in Paris? Yes, please!! 😉
We have had lots of rain too. Looking forward to those flowers. I brought home The Unfortunate Importance of Beauty today.
Looks like a really good haul. The Wrong Man caught my attention. Happy Reading!
The Book of Speculation looks good – I love books that are about books!
Spring usually means allergy season for us. I hope things start to feel more settled for you soon, Kathy. Enjoy your new books! I want to read The Book of Speculation at some point. I’ve heard great things about it.
What a mailbox! 🙂
Can’t wait to see what you think of the Unfortunate Importance of Beauty!
Always nice when a book arrives with an edible treat!
Five Nights in Paris sounds good! I only got one new book last week, which is fine with me.
Was the cookie as good as it looks?
We had rain too last week but the sun is popping up all week so far! Enjoy your mailbox.
If there’s one think I like as much as books it’s cookies!!
Wow — we sure got a lot of different books that week!
