Mailbox Monday January 5

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued, and now hosted on its own blog.   Happy New Year!  I feel like a broken record, but it was another slow week in books and reading.  Hopefully things will change now that the holidays are over.  I found these books in my mailbox last week:

I liked the first Rosie book so I’ll watch for your review of the new one. Not familiar with The Grown Ups but I’ll look it up. Have a good week, Kathy, and Happy New Year!

Fun! I’ll have to revive my local book club to take advantage of Book Club Girl’s offers.

One of my goals for 2015 is to give another “in person” book club a try. I am on the fence about The Rosie Effect.

Slow weeks are always nice catch-up weeks.

Hope you and your book club enjoy The Grown Ups – it’s one I’m eager to read. The Rosie Effect has gotten mixed reviews so far but I’m keeping an open mind. Happy reading!

I wasn’t too sure about The Rosie Effect but after reading Jill’s (rhapsodyinbooks) review, I’ve added it to my to-read list. It sounds like it’s not as good as the first book but still a fun read.

    happy reading

No books in my mailbox last week, I’m afraid. But that isn’t uncommon. I haven’t gotten much reading done recently either. I do hope that changes soon.

    Hi Kathy,

I am sure that ‘normal service will be resumed’ very soon, now that all the Christmas / New Year madness is over!

I really like the sound of ‘The Grown Ups’. However for me, ‘The Rosie Project’ is probably going to be something of a non starter, which definitely seems to be me going against the trend of people queueing to read it.

Enjoy both books and have a good week.

    Yvonne.
