Wondrous Words Wednesday

December 24, 2014

Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme where you can share new words that you’ve encountered or spotlight words you love.  Feel free to get creative!   If you want to play along, grab the button, write a post and come back and add your link to Mr. Linky!

I tried to find some festive words for the holidays but couldn’t come up with anything that everyone doesn’t already know so I’m sharing a word I discovered on a beer label.

The Hairy Eyeball

1. perihelial Lagunitas Brewing calls their The Hairy Eyeball Ale a perihelial release.

Perihelion is the point in a solar orbit when the orbiting body is closest to the sun.  I did a little research and found perihelion occurs in January – the next time will be January 4, 2015 at 1:37 AM Eastern Time.

I wish all those who celebrate Christmas a wonderful holiday full of fun, food, and family!

What words do you want to celebrate today?
