Mailbox Monday September 29

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued, and now hosted on its own blog.   Things were back to normal last week.  I’m done with the doctor – for a few months anyway.  As far as books go, I actually broke even – I finished four books and got four new ones.  Here are the books that showed up in my mailbox:

I wouldn’t even bother reading a book about self control, LOL!

Well done on breaking even! I need a few weeks like that! All or Nothing looks like a good read, enjoy!

Nice mailbox…you get the most interesting books. I don’t know any of them, but the self-control one looks good.

Shadows in the Vineyard looks good too.

What an eclectic collection of books. Happy reading, Kathy!

Brewster looks really interesting to me. I just moved from a town not that far away from Brewster, NY and my husband had a relative who used to live there before she passed. Having a storyline in 1968 (for a person of my age) makes this a must-read, thanks!
By the way, I read the blurb for the Marshmallow test, and I would’ve taken the first choice–lol– wouldn’t have the patience to wait for two.

Brewster looks very interesting to me, too. My favorite great aunt lived there while I was growing up.

Hurray for breaking even and to a break from doctors!

    Hi Kathy,

I am so pleased that you get to be free of the doctor for a decent period of time, you must feel so relieved and free!

It would be so good to break even on my books read and gained, either that or I need to have several lifetimes in which to complete the challenge!

I am not a huge non-fiction reader, unless I come across fantastic looking ‘coffee table’ books, which can be browsed rather than read.

I do hope that you enjoy all your great new addition though and look forward to catching some of your reviews of them.

    Enjoy your week,

    Yvonne

I have to say I was well saddened to read the small print of the marshmallow test, I was so hoping it would be a great work of fiction!

Fabulous books. Shadows in the Vineyard and The Marshmallow Test need to go on my wish list.

Thanks for visiting The Busy Mom’s Daily.

Looking forward to your reviews of these books. I’m just starting a week of appointments. Not getting many steps lately due to unexplained stiffness in all of my joints! It came on really fast last week. I don’t get sick or sore joints as a rule so I headed to the MD today. Hope it’s not a medical mystery, LOL! Have a good week, Kathy 🙂

  25. September 29, 2014 7:39 pm

All or Nothing sounds riveting, Kathy! I hope you enjoy each of these books, and look forward to your reviews.

I got The Marshmallow Test at BEA, but have yet to read it. It’s my kind of book, though. 🙂
