Mailbox Monday March 10

Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia of To Be Continued, and now hosted on its own blog.   We had a gorgeous weekend so I’m beginning to suspect spring is on its way!  Now I just have to adjust to the pesky time change – the older I get, the longer it takes.  Here are the books that showed up in my mailbox last week:

Did you find any goodies in your mailbox last week?

Ha! Be bought our current house from a woman named Jane Sanderson. Is she an author and didn’t tell me? I haven’t heard much buzz about any of these, but I’m sure I will before long. You always get the best ones.

Netherwood is loads of fun! Hope you love it! The Cormier books sound delicious 🙂

I do grumble a lot about the time change, especially manually changing the clocks in my collections…LOL. But I do like the longer evenings. Your books look fascinating, although they are new to me. I must check them out! Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week.

I’m not familiar with any of these titles, I look forward to your thoughts.
Last week I received- Seducing Ingrid Bergman from St. Martins Press
The Other Typist, pb from Putnam, I read it but the PB launch is 4/1 and the author will be at my local indie so I’m on a blog tour for the book.
I also got a copy of Above by Isla Morley from a generous blogging friend who had an extra copy…yippee!

    Have a great week!

Two of my kids liked The Chocolate War. Wonder why it’s being rereleased…. a movie, maybe?

  12. March 10, 2014 11:15 am

I read the Chocolate War, sometime ago, it’s interesting, I think if I had read it years ago when my boys were young I wouldn’t have let them go to school. Hope you enjoy it.

Glad the weather is warming up! DST is the worst, though it’s nice to have longer days.

To Rise Again at a Decent Hour caught my eye! (also goes with the DST theme, ha!) Enjoy all your new books!

I wonder too about the Cormier books. I never read them though, and maybe this will spur me to do so.

  20. March 10, 2014 1:46 pm

I’ve never read The Chocolate War, but I really should. I didn’t even know there was a sequel to it until I was looking for the original publication date for the first book.

    Hope you’ll visit me at

Ooooooooo you leave me wondering about the Netherwood cover.

  33. March 11, 2014 11:40 am

Most are new titles for me. To Rise Again at a Decent Hour is one that’s on my list. That time change annoys me too. It should just stay put – preferably with more daylight in the evening – but nobody asked me!

  34. March 11, 2014 7:54 pm

To Rise Again at a Decent Hour was one of my picks for Books That Caught Our Eye a few weeks ago. Can’t wait to see what you think of it.

  35. March 12, 2014 8:17 pm

I’m excited about the new Joshua Ferris book. I’m saving it up for when I need a treat 🙂

I read the Cormier books when I was a teen. I met Mr. Cormier once at a teachers’ conference — a very nice person. I’ll be curious what you think about them. He writes with an almost stark reality of human nature.
I received a copy of a Mari Jungstedt mystery a few months ago – The Dead of Summer – loved it!!

  37. March 15, 2014 11:10 pm

These are all new to me. Hope you enjoy them!
