Shake by Carli Davidson is a delightful book full of pictures of dogs caught in the act of shaking. Davidson worked hard to get these fabulous photos. She started by playing with the dogs, in order to make them comfortable, and then would sprinkle drops of water on their head, scratch their ears, rub them with a towel, or blow on them to get them to shake. Once they did she was ready with her strobe lights and camera.
Davidson’s models were secured through friends, rescue groups, and social media. All the dogs pictured are named in the back of the book. Davidson includes a note on the importance of adopting from a shelter and of spaying or neutering your pet. She says 70% of the dogs pictured in the book are rescues.
Looking through this book is so much fun! It’s one of those books that you want to share with your friends. I’ve looked through it over and over again and one of my favorite aspects is that Davidson includes handicapped dogs like sweet little London.
This book can be shared with the whole family because dog lovers of all ages are sure to enjoy it!
