Saturday Snapshot

November 23, 2013

Carl and I popped into Malaprop’s last weekend during our Asheville getaway and I spotted this fun display.  I didn’t buy one of the books but now I wish I had.  There’s always next time!

Love this! In fact, I might do something similar for a blog giveaway.

That is fun! A girl in our book club had mentioned something like this a few months ago. She had said it would be fun to do for February (Valentines month) as a blind date where we do the same thing – wrap up a book in plain paper and on the outside write some of the highlights…. I hope we do it! 🙂

    What fun!!

My library does this and i love it. I always walk away with something I’ve never read before. Although, i must say the commitment is a little less coming from a library.

    I love it 🙂

What a fun idea. I might have to suggest it to my boss…

  16. November 23, 2013 6:44 pm

What a great idea. I just want to rip those covers off, and see what books are underneath.

  17. November 23, 2013 7:04 pm

Very clever. Although I have a feeling if I go by the ‘description’ I might end up buying a book I already read!

  18. November 23, 2013 8:11 pm

A perfect choice for this meme! Terrific display!

  19. November 23, 2013 8:12 pm

I’ve heard of bookstores doing this and I love this idea! It seems like a great way to get people to pick up books that might not otherwise.

  20. November 23, 2013 8:44 pm

That looks like great fun. I’ve seen pictures from libraries that do this before, but never a bookstore!

  21. November 24, 2013 7:57 am

What a splendid idea!A lucky dip for a book. It would possibly make it even harder to chose a book though!

  22. November 24, 2013 8:50 am

    Very fun display.

  23. November 24, 2013 8:55 am

What funnnn!!! I would SO pick up anything Sarah Addison Allen recommends.

  25. November 24, 2013 11:27 am

I always leave a bookstore with regrets that I didn’t get more books…

  26. November 24, 2013 12:07 pm

I saw another bookstore that did something similar – this is such a cool way to pick a book.

  27. November 24, 2013 1:52 pm

    Such a great idea!

Fun idea! I think I spy Ready Player One from the description. Definitely go back and pick one up so we can see what you get 🙂

  32. November 25, 2013 8:30 pm

How could you resist such a clever idea! What fun 🙂
