This beautiful butterfly posed for me in a neighbor’s yard when I was walking last week.   Seeing it was a fabulous way to start my day.

He is beautiful! I have a bush in my yard and yesterday when I was doing work out there I noticed about 20 of them flying around it. I should have taken a picture! Butterflies make me happy 🙂

Are those zinnia flowers? If so, I’ll have to plant some next year in order to attract a butterfly like this one.

Magnificent photo! The colors are spectacular!

One of the highlights of my summer has been watching the monarchs who are attracted to the milkweed I planted, and the many cute caterpillars who feast on our plants.

Wow … great capture, Kathy! I love Eastern Tiger Swallowtails, when I was a kid, I believed they were messengers of good luck. I sure wish I could go for walks with you!

It is a gorgeous photo – butterflies are great when you can capture them n camera, but they are not always very helpful. This week I’ve shifted my Snapshot on to my other blog

That would be a special way to start your day, lucky to have a camera with you. I love it when butterflies are like that- still perfect, wings not tattered.

Wow! Just beautiful! A question … have you noticed far fewer butterflies in your region of the country? My husband and I have seen only a couple Monarchs and far fewer swallowtails, skippers, viceroys, and cabbage sulphurs this summer. We don’t understand why this might be …

We’re in southern New Hampshire, by the way.

    Wow, gorgeous photo!!

Beautiful! I tried to take a picture of a butterfly this past Friday. It was twilight and the butterfly was black with blue design. It seemed to glow at times. But it kept flying away as soon as I got near it.
