Kid Konnection: Poopendous!

February 2, 2013

I don’t accept many picture books for review.  Not because I don’t like and value them but because I find them difficult to review.  When I got a pitch for Poopendous!, I thought it looked special enough to accept and was I ever right!  I’m sure youngsters will love this book – after all, it’s about a subject they’re fascinated by yet adults don’t want to talk about.

Poopendous!, by Artie Bennett, is written in rhyming verse that kids are sure to love and features great, colorful illustrations by Mike Moran.  The story is narrated by Professor P. Poopdeck and starts off by letting kids know everyone poops.  It goes on to share some of the different names for poop and even explains some ways poop is used.

This picture book is sure to be a favorite of little ones – I know it will be met with grins and giggles!  While the kids are having fun, they’ll learn a thing or two.  I can’t wait to share Poopendous! with my great nephew!

I love the way the word “poop” can collapse any toddler into giggles. I wonder why that is!

I’m pretty sure my eight-year-old would love this book. Her favorite jokes all revolve around poo or other bathroom functions!

Poop has been our mind a lot lately in our family as we have a toddler nearing potty-training. This looks like a great book to add to her collection! Glad you opted to review it here – thanks!

Gage isn’t talking poop yet, but I expect to hear it soon since I do hear about the pee-pee 😉 You just have to laugh!

Oh, this does sound like a cute one, and definitely something that little ones would enjoy and find great humor in. I’m curious about the things you can learn too…like what poop is used for!

I’ve got to get a copy of this one for the little snuggle bug! He’s 19 months old now and discovering that when his diaper gets changed at times, that it can be really, really stinky! 😀
He’ll love it! Thanks for the great review!

Having worked in the library as a children’s librarian I can personally attest to kid’s fascination with the subject of #2 and books about the subject. We just potty trained a few weeks ago so I will have to get my hands on this one for little man. Thanks for the review!
