Interesting list, I was a little shocked at myself for knowing so few. Obviously ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’, and I’ve read a lot of Sue Grafton’s Kinsey books and I do know the Hoffman tale, and obviously I know Dolly Parton… but the others? Oh dear, I need to investigate! Thanks for sharing!

Happy reading 🙂 I’ve got To Kill a Mockingbird sitting on Mt TBR and I’m curious about Jim Butchers work.
Sandy is in full effect here. I’m up early trying to enjoy the internet while I still have power.

Looks like a lot of readers are getting their copies of The Lost Art of Mixing. I’ve been waiting for just the right moment to dive into mine, wanting to savor it while curled up on the couch with a hot cup of tea or cocoa. I loved The School of Essential Ingredients and am very excited about this new book!

  5. October 29, 2012 7:12 am

Wow! I really enjoyed The Unfinished Garden, hope you do too 🙂

  6. October 29, 2012 7:24 am

I’ve seen a few of these in other mailboxes today. I hope you enjoy them all. The new Erica Bauermeister is on my list.

The Nutcracker looks wonderful and all that audio again! I am hoping to start getting some of that as well… I have scraped my home Library clean 🙂

  11. October 29, 2012 9:08 am

I must read Kinsey and Me. I love Grafton’s series with Kinsey Millhone, and can’t get enough of that character. I assume this one is a memoir?

Drinking with Men grabbed my interest, too. Enjoy your books! And thanks for visiting my blog.

  12. October 29, 2012 9:18 am

Great selection of books and audio books! I think I have the Villa Triste. Enjoy all your new reads!

  13. October 29, 2012 9:59 am

I just got The Nutcracker the other day, too! I’m excited for it. Love your new pile of books – they look so interesting – enjoy! Looking forward to your thoughts on the one by Dolly.

Nice pile~interesting that you’ve got a new To Kill a Mockingbird – did you read that there are going to be nationwide screenings of the movie starring Gregory Peck on November 15th. Apparently it’s been newly restored. I’ve got a list a participating theatres on my blog post if you’re interested.

To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorites, and I hope that you get the chance to read it soon. The others sound rather interesting as well. Good luck with them all!

You had a big week! The Unfinished Garden caught my eye especially. Happy reading and listening!

  18. October 29, 2012 12:14 pm

Nice week. I didn’t know Sue Grafton had a new book out.

  19. October 29, 2012 12:18 pm

The new book by Erica Bauermeister has got me in a dither. LOVE her books. And I got The Patriarch as well, and even though it is huge, I’m interested. I read a family history novel about the Kennedy’s in college and that whole family was incredibly fascinating. Joseph Kennedy wasn’t the perfect guy, you know?

  20. October 29, 2012 12:22 pm

Yay a Jim audio (I’ll be looking forward to that) and can I saw how jealous I am of your Nutcracker book? 🙂

I am a Kennedy fanatic so the Patriarch looks interesting to me. I would love to know more about Joe Kennedy – he is not generally painted as a very sympathetic character.

  23. October 29, 2012 1:25 pm

What a wonderful collection of books!

  24. October 29, 2012 1:36 pm

A GREAT week for you. ENJOY…they all look good.

ENJOY the audios….I haven’t listened to a book for a long time. Used to listen in the car going back and forth to work.

    Hi Kathy,

I see that you are continuing your fantastic mailbox selections this week. Apart from the memoirs and the Jim Butcher novel, I really want to add all the other great titles to my reading list, although whether I shall ever get to read them is a completely different story!

Congratulations on your win, The Unfinished Garden sounds really good and an excellent debut novel. I am sure that I shall be able to relate to several aspects of the story, as I am forever being told that I have OCD, because of the regimental and precise order and way in which I will carry out a task time and time again. Personally I can’t relate to those comments, but then I guess that is all part of the problem!

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy all of your books.

    Yvonne
