Saturday Snapshot

December 3, 2011

When Vance was small and thought he was too old to take a nap, I still required him to go to bed after lunch for quiet time.  I felt like I couldn’t make him sleep, but I could make him rest.   He would lie in bed and play with a toy or look at a book and almost always fall asleep.  One day, when he was about  two and a half, I peeked in on him and saw that he’d fallen asleep with a book over his face.  It looks like he was “reading” Baby’s Mother Goose.  I thought it was cute, so I snapped this photo.

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books.  It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.

This is too cute! I also think it’s adorable that he was sure that he was too old for a nap, but he fell asleep anyway! Thanks for sharing this photo and story!

This is hilarious. The way his arms are splayed out makes it look like the book attacked him.

    Happy Saturday!

Oh, so totally adorable! I remember those days and how I insisted on rest time, too. Often they would play quietly and then fall asleep.
