Saturday Snapshot
July 23, 2011
Carl and I were in Northern Ireland recently and drove to the coast. The countryside was gorgeous, sparsely populated, and covered with sheep. (If you click on the photo and look closely, you’ll see them at the top of that hill.)

This is exactly what I pictured Northern Ireland to look like.
There is nothing more beautiful than the Irish countryside…except for the Irish coast!
Beautiful landscape!
I have yet to visit Northern Ireland, but I hope to one day.
Beautiful – that’s how it looks around here with all these surprising green. I like pretending I am in Ireland. Maybe someday we’ll do the real deal.
How pretty. Much flatter than I imagined.
Beautiful landscape ! It looks like where my parents are living in France : le Morvan. But no sheeps there, only white cows !
I have always wanted to visit Ireland and to see the sights. It’s my family’s ancestral home, and my brother went and visited earlier this year for his honeymoon. He took some gorgeous pictures and shared them with me. I am so glad that you got the chance to go!
Have never been there, but it is just as I envisioned from books I’ve read. Nice Kathy.
That is a beautiful photo!!
Oh, I have a fantasy about visiting Ireland someday! I love the green…of course, my son, who lived there for awhile back in the nineties, reminds me that all the rain they have is responsible. Love the green? Have to love the rain, too.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
The Irish countryside is quite pretty and green.
Gollee, glad I didn’t miss your Irish photos.
I can see the sheep. The green is lovely.
What a great picture!
I’m glad you pointed out the sheep – I wouldn’t have noticed them otherwise. Gorgeous fields!
This is a beautiful picture, Kathy. It brings me back to the time I spent in Ireland with my parents years ago. The land was so green, all different shades and everywhere there were sheep! I loved it in Ireland.
this is beautiful, when I think of Ireland this is what I think of. I hope it’s not a rare view.
Mom mom’s family comes from Ireland and I’ve always wanted to visit there. The photo shows just how beautiful Ireland is!!
Here’s My SS
I meant my mom, not mom mom LOL!
Ahhh…Our visit to Ireland last fall did not include the North. Someday, perhaps…
Thank you.
I do see the sheep! Beautiful picture!

Such a gorgeous country. I’d love to go back there, it’s been many many years. Their countryside looks like a green patchwork quilt. I hope you enjoyed your trip immensely.

Fantastic picture! I have always wanted to visit Ireland.
Lovely photos and it makes me want to go to Britain and visit my family RIGHT NOW!
Beautiful! The land looks like a quilt.
That is simply gorgeous!
That is lovely… it looks like a postcard. Do people still send those or am I dating myself?
When we came in for a landing in Ireland, to change planes for London, I could see why they call it emerald isle. The landscape was all different shades of green, and I remember the fields and the sheep and the small villages. Dave’s cousin lives in Ireland; we’ve want to go there for a long time.
What a beautiful photo!
You make me want to go to Ireland. How absolutely gorgeous.
Beautiful! Great photo. I’ve been told that Ireland is really green. I’d love to visit one day.

I went to Dublin last year, but didn’t really get out into the countryside. It looked nice flying over, but this is even more beautiful.
Beautiful! You’ve captured the very reason why I want to visit the area someday.
Absolutely beautiful!! One day my husband and I would love to ride motorcycles in Ireland!!
So beautiful! It makes me want to start planning a trip to Ireland.
After London, Ireland is next on my wish list. Gorgeous.
Cool!!! I was in Northern Ireland quite a few years ago … it is lovely!! Did you get to the Giant’s Causeway? Those rock formations were one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. Looking forward to seeing more photos from your trip.
By the way, I’m just back from vacation and getting caught up with blogs. I’m only leaving one comment for everyone but reading all your posts. I figure less commenting will help me catch up faster. Thanks for understanding.
This is such a beautiful picture! I wish I can visit Ireland some day.
I have visited Ireland a couple of times, but I have yet to make my way north. Lovely photo.
