Saturday Snapshot
July 9, 2011
Carl and I were in London recently and Meghan of Medieval Bookworm was nice enough to take the train in and join us one day. Meghan is every bit as adorable and sweet as I thought she would be and Carl and I really enjoyed our time with her. Meghan and I posed on a really cool bench in the British Library. There were other people on the bench when we got there, but we waited patiently for them to leave. Can you imagine a better spot to take our picture?
Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books. It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.

Kathy, I love that bench!! Very appropriate spot for two book bloggers to have a snapshot taken. LOL
Also glad you got to meet up wtih another blogger. Isn’t that fun? Thanks for sharing with us!
Wow…how nice Meghan stopped by..
Enjoy London…..it is a great place to visit.
Whoa! I love that bench! Great picture 🙂
The bench! I didn’t even notice it until you mentioned it. How perfect 🙂
What a seriously cool sculpture. She seems super sweet. I want more London pictures.
Good thing you pointed out that the bench was special or I would have missed the point that it was a book. I think I’ll have to visit and have my author’s photo done when I get a book published.
I want one of those benches (minus the huge chain…was that just to protect the bench or was it part of the display? It looks very elaborate). It always fun to meet people in the real world after getting to know them online.
That is so fun! It’s so nice to meet virtual friends in the real world!
I have a picture of that very same bench!
Love the picture and wasn’t that great for the two of you to meet.
I love this pic! Glad you guys had fun.
That book bench is awesome! And how neat that you got to meet Meghan – I love her blog!
Ooooh London! I am seriously jealous. Would go back to London in a heartbeat. So glad you got to meet Meghan.
Oh, fantastic! So cool that you and Meghan were able to meet “in real life” — and yes, the PERFECT spot for a photo opp!
Perfect bench for a library and two book bloggers! Great picture.
Oh, I want to go there! That looks like a fabulous place to sit and watch the people go by. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
What better place could there be for two book bloggers to meet than the library. Nice photo of both of you. Hope we get to hear more about the library and/or London.
Oh my god that is the coolest bench ever! If they made it in couch form I would totally buy it!
You both look so cozy in that book bench!
That has to be one of the best benchs I’ve ever seen! Too wonderful for words.
What an awesome bench; I love it!
I was down in London last weekend 🙂
I love that bench! I really must visit the British Library one day!
It was the perfect bench! I am so glad we got to meet, it was more than worth it. 🙂
Love the bench-I want one in my library!! It’s good to hear you had a lovely time on your London trip.
I am totally in love with that bench! I’m glad you had the opportunity to meed Meghan.
Fun! I love London! Did you have a fun time at the library? 🙂
That bench is adorable and a great place for book bloggers to sit and visit. How fun to meet a fellow blogger. And in London no less! Great picture!
Absolutely the best spot for a picture of a couple of bookish women! Such a cool “bench.” Love it!
I am always a bit jealous when bloggers get to meet each other! Great picture!

Both photo and bench are awesome!!!
How sweet of her to meet you-and what a lovely and apropos photo!
*smiles*
What a lovely picture. It is so nice that you got to meet a fellow blogger.
Hi Kathy,
I hope that you had a great trip and enjoyed yourselves in London.
I truly hadn’t noticed the relevance of the bench until you pointed it out, funny that we only see what we want to see, isn’t it?
All I could focus on, was two people who enjoyed each others company, having a snapshot to remember their time by!!
Meeting a fellow blogger must be great, putting a face to the name and a personality behind the posts. I hope to get the same opportunity some day!!
What a great bench- love it! That’s so fun that you got to have a blogger meet-up in London.
Yay for having the opportunity to meet with Meghan! That is one of my favorite parts of being places other than home, having the opportunity to meet people I only know online. Looks like it was great fun.
Wow I’m late to this party. I think it is so cool that you got to meet Meghan. And that has to be the coolest book, I mean bench, EVER!
my goodness, this is wonderful. and Sandy, I am even later to the party!
I love that bench with the book feel! I like London’s hustle and bustle – Piccadily Circus – Tube stop make me laugh. Now that’s what I call a people watcher’s day at the fair – just the amount of people will have your head spinning.
Did you get a chance to go to V&A museum?? Plus the National Museum library will take your breath away.
Can I say how jealous I am that you not only got to meet sweet Meghan in person – but you actually got to visit one of my all-time favorite cities?!
Looks like a wonderful time was had by all 🙂
So cool that you got the chance to meet Meghan. She’s also a real sweetheart, so you two must have gotten along perfectly!
Awesome awesome photo!!! I want one of those benches in my library!! 😀
How fantastic to go to the British Library, meet a fellow blogger (always a fabulous experience), and snag the perfect seat!
Wow! I never noticed that bench until you pointed it out! I hope you had a great time there.
I’m glad I’m not the only one to visit libraries on vacation! I have some great shots of the brand new Amsterdam public library (they pop up in my website header) and at the Minneapolis Public Library.
That’s a nice bench!! I love the book design! Nice pic too!!
You two are so adorable!! And I would love that bench for my yard.
LOVE the book bench! I bet you two had a great time.
Too fun! I love how book bloggers can go just about anywhere in the world and find someone they know . . . and someone who loves them enough to come see them, wherever they are. 🙂 I met up with Lyndsey from Tea Devotee when I was in London in April — absolutely love seeing blogger friends face to face!
What a perfect spot to meet up with a fellow book blogger, the bench was made for your get together! Thanks for sharing the picture with us.
Very cute photo! You look like you’re dressed for winter.
Love the pic! Perfect place indeed.
Love the photo!!!! And I was going to say what Julie did — it must have been cold.
