Saturday Snapshot
June 18, 2011
I’ve been pretty weepy thinking about Father’s Day, but still wanted to post a picture of my dad and me in honor of it. I know this one isn’t the greatest, but it’s how I remember my dad. He made time for us, even when he worked two jobs, and always made sure the people he loved knew it. Based on my age, I’d say this photo was taken in Bermuda in 1959. If you’re lucky enough to still have your father, make sure you tell him how much you love him this weekend!
Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books. It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.

I have been thinking of you this week in regards to Father’s Day, and hope that you are doing ok. I imagine that it must be really hard right now being the first Father’s Day after your dad’s passing. I love this photo, and the fact that you are sill honoring your dad. If you need anything at all, my friend, just let me know.
Lovely photo. Great memories.
With the intro of digital I am not sure we will keep so many photos in years to come.

I am teary-eyed seeing it. What a beautiful photo.
Nice looking dad.
That’s a great photo of your dad and a lovely tribute.
What a lovely photo and beautiful reminder of your father! My thoughts will be with you tomorrow.
Your dad looks like such a nice man. Sorry he’s gone, but glad you have so many happy memories of him.
Kathy, I’ve been thinking about you too as we’ve been preparing for Father’s Day. I know that it will be very emotional for you, kind of like Mother’s Day was for me. I miss my Dad too, but I’ve had little longer without him. Guess this is Father’s Day #3 since he’s been gone. Such a nice picture of you and your Dad. You guys seem to have shared those bright, dark eyes. 🙂
Hugs.
Beautiful Kathy. I do not have any picture of when i was a baby with my dad –just ones from when I was older.
Awww, wonderful, Kathy. Thank goodness for our beautiful memories. Thinking about you.
What a sweet photo of you and your dad (and a good reminder to appreciate our fathers).
That is such a wonderful picture. Your dad sure does look in love with his little girl!
This is a photo to treasure. Hugs for you…
Photos are wonderful reminders! Your dad looked very proud of you.
Love that pic! Your dad obviously adored you.
I’ll definitely take your advice. x

That’s a sweet photo 🙂
Take care.
Awwwww…. I love the picture of you and your dad. I don’t think we ever get over being ‘weepy’…..
Take care.
Just yesterday I was thinking about you and realized that this is the first Father’s Day that your dad has been gone. I remember how hard it was for me when my dad passed away and I saw all the Father’s Day cards in stores.
Big hugs to you, Kathy. And thanks for sharing that sweet photo with us.
Such a sweet photo…
That’s a great photo!
I’ve been thinking of you as Father’s day was approaching. I know how hard it is this time. I love this photo. I’m glad you have these photos from your childhood as memories.
Adorable pic!
I don’t have my dad anymore either, it’s been 31 years. Don’t you wonder how they did it. Working two jobs and still enjoying their family.
Great pic! Thanks for the reminder to cherish the time with my Dad tomorrow!
Kathy, I’m sorry this is such a tough holiday for you. I do love this picture, your dad looks so happy to have you on his lap. I added my dad’s picture to my fb, but you know, I do need to put a picture of him up on my blog, he’s 86 and I’m blessed to have him still with me.
Such a beautiful picture. I am in the same category as you but, I am sure like me, you have many wonderful memories to celebrate Father’s Day with. I lost my Dad 38 years ago but have had a lifetime of precious memories to sustain me and share with my boys.
This is such a great picture of your dad. I’m sure he’d be proud to see it again. Kathy this must be a tough father’s day for you.
Aw, that’s a sweet photo! I’m sorry that this Father’s Day is going to be a tough one for you. =(
What a beautiful picture! I am sorry that the father’s day will be difficult for you. My thoughts are with you. *Hugs*
Precious picture 🙂
Hope that today is not too hard; that first special holiday without a parent can be so difficult.
Sending you good thoughts…
Weren’t you just the cutie pie! Your Dad was so handsome and this is such a wonderful picture to have. My family wasn’t much for picture taking so unfortunately I don’t have too many of our family together. Treasure your photos and your memories. Your Dad sounds like he was a truly special man.
Awww hugs. I am glad you have happy memories of him
Oh, you were a cutie pie! I hope this day goes kindly for you. This is my 24th without my dad and it doesn’t get much easier. I hope you find comfort in your memories and in celebrating Carl.
Happy Father’s Day to everyone. Jut think your Pop’s looking down and thinking… “There’s my girl- love you.”
Hi Kathy,
My husband and I are both lucky enough to have our fathers still with us, one is 85, the other 86.
We visited my father yesterday and took him plants for his small yard, he still enjoys planting different things and is always on the lookout for something unusual to fill an odd space or two.
Hubbies father we phoned first thing and we plan to visit within the next couple of weeks.
I just love digging out these old photos and bringing back the memories. My personal favourite is one of myself, my father and his father, taken shortly before my grandfathers death, that one is really special.
I love your picture. I am thinking of you today. I’d like to say it gets easier but sadly it doesn’t. My dad has been gone for 25 years and I still miss him terribly! Just hang on to the good memories today. It helps!
I lost my dad 9 years ago and feel the sadness on days like today. What a lovely photo of you and your dad, hanging on to the good memories is all we have and yet they are so precious, it always makes me smile. It took time but eventually we all begin to smile as so many memories come to light, many forgotten when our dads where alive.
This is a sweet, beautiful photo, Kathy. Your dad’s love for you, pride and happiness are evident on his face as he watches you. I hope you’re doing okay today. I can understand how difficult a day like today is. You will eventually feel less raw sad. Try to focus on the good, happy memoriesof which it sounds you have many. I’m thinking of you :o)
Your picture brought tears to my eyes too. I miss my dad too.
That’s a great picture Kathy! Your Dad sounds like he was very loving and caring. Thank you for sharing this special part of your life.
What a cute photo. I am sorry you have to spend Father’s Day without your dad 😦
What a sweet pic! I’m missing my dad today, too. ((HUGS))
I have to really did for baby photos. Cute pic and I’m sure your Dad is looking down on his girl. I will keep him in my prayers.
That is the sweetest photo! Look at how he is looking at you!!! So full of love!! I know it is hard on these holidays … especially the first one after you’ve lost your dad. Hugs to you.
I love that photo and I did make sure to call my Dad today. Thanks for reminding us not to take them for granted 😀
This father’s day must be so hard, but I’m glad you shared this photo. It really does show the love.
What a lovely picture! I don’t know where my dad is now but still it’s a great day for all families in the world to celebrate their dads. 🙂
How swweeet!
I was thinking a lot about you Kathy this past week and especially yesterday. The special occasions are always so hard to get through. It’s a great pic of you and your dad though. Many hugs to you my friend.
This photo is so beautiful, Kathy ! And your father seems so proud of you !
Beautiful, Kathy — lovely that he’s looking at you and grinning!
