Review: A Christmas Ride
Robert and Meg Warner were a pretty typical couple. They stayed busy with their jobs so there wasn’t much time to spend with their children, Tim and Julie. They made it a point to set aside the time to spend Christmas in Breckenridge, Colorado, but that didn’t always go well either. It seems that the kids were always whining or Robert’s cell phone was ringing with a business call.
One year, Tim snuck away and took a horseback ride up a mountain. What he saw there was so stunning, he decided he had to share it with Julie the next year. When the two of them made the trip the next year, they were so amazed they knew they needed to make more of an effort to get along and appreciate their family. They vowed to show their parents the next year. Things change, and by the next year, Julie and Tim found themselves struggling to save their family.
A Christmas Ride: The Miracle of Lights by Edie Hand with Jeffery Addison is a story of love, family and hope. It will make you reflect on what’s really important in your life. This sweet novella is just the kind of story I like this time of year to put me in a holiday mood. It left me with tears in my eyes and a smile in my heart.
I’m in the mood for some holiday reading myself…I’ll keep this in mind!
This sounds really good. My husband goes to Breckenridge every year, so it might be the perfect book for us!
See, I don’t know if I could name one Christmas-related book, but here you’ve read two! This one sounds like a heart-warming read. Something to pull us all down to the ground level and remind us what is important!
I usually don’t go for this type of book. I tend to be more of a “twisted Christmas” kind of girl–Holidays on Ice, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation–but now I’m curious what they find! I think I feel a new library list addition coming on. 🙂 Thanks for the rec.
I agree Kathy, there is something about this time of year that makes me turn towards these books as well. This one looks like a great read!
This does sound like a good holiday tale. I am glad you enjoyed it, Kathy. Thanks for sharing!

I am always interested in holiday reading, so I will keep this one in mind!
I love books that leave a smile in your heart, especially during this time of year! One of my bookish friends recommended The Christmas Box las year which was a lovely read. You’re doing well in your 2009 Holiday Challenge, and it isn’t even December yet!
I just love books like this during the holiday season. I wasn’t familiar with this one! Thanks!
I love it when tears and a smile go hand in hand..sounds delightful!!
This sounds like a terrific “feel good” book. I enjoyed your review!
This sounds like a good one to read with the holidays coming up! It’s nice to read these heartwarming stories this time of year.
Suffice to say I want to read this book. Thanks for the review, Kathy!

It is so NICE and wonderful 🙂
This one sounds like something I will definitely like.
I’ve been feeling like reading some holiday stuff already too. This book sounds really good. Thanks for the review!
This sounds sweet.
Have you read Edie’s true life story, “The Last Christmas Ride”? It showcases one of the greatest gifts a sister could ever give her brother. It also highlights the intimate details of her life, her family and the trials and tribulations that made her the woman she is today. It will tug at your heart strings!
Your review has the quality of a mystery. I have to know what the kids found on that mountain and what’s going on with the family. It’s going on the list.
I’m looking for some holiday reading–this one looks good!
I thought I had found all the Christmas books this year, but I missed this one. Thanks for the review. I’ll track this one down.
I hadn’t yet heard of this book, but I have been looking for a good holiday read for this year. I really liked your review and will be taking a closer look at the book. Thanks!
The holiday stories are being reviewed earlier and earlier this year lol. Glad you enjoyed this!
What a beautiful book! I should find it and share it with my family. Thanks for sharing your review of it and bringing it to my attention.
I must admit, I used to hate Christmas. But in recent years, I’ve grown to love the Christmas season because I’ve discovered that Christmas is all about family, love, and celebrating what you are lucky enough to have. This sounds like a lovely novella and I hope I’ll be able to get my hands on it this Holiday season.
