Mailbox Monday

April 27, 2009

Mailbox Monday is hosted by Marcia of The Printed Page.  Head over there if you want to join the fun or see what everyone else got last week.  I had a great week, but most of the books I received were wins or prizes.  Here’s what I found in my mailbox:

  • North of Montana by April Smith – the paper with this one says it was a win – I think it was from Twitter
  • Janeology by Karen Harrington –  a win from Karen’s blog Scobberlotch
  • 8 books by George Pelecanos – these were a prize for calling in to his Blog Talk Radio show

What new books came into your home last week?

That’s a lot of books! I have to admit, I’m just a wee bit jealous of your copy of Janeology – I’ve entered every giveaway I’ve seen for that one. I think that may be one title that makes me add to my books-bought total for the year.

Thank you for stopping by the mailbox this week. Enjoy your books!

In my opinion, you are reading one of the best writers of detective fiction in the world. I blundered on Pelecanos in the magazine First Edition and started with the first one. Would love to know what you think. I’ve never been able to give them away and they are in my bedroom now. I don’t like the current ones as much as I did Shoedog, The Sweet Forever and A Firing Offense.
I prefer the totally bleak and hopeless ones! Next time you are over my way ( please
sign in. I think I’d like to keep in touch with you.
