Review: Eyes of the Storm
Lucius, Phoney and Smiley are returning to The Barrelhaven Tavern, so Smiley and Phoney can work off their debt to Lucius. Gran’ma Ben, Thorn and Fone Bone are staying on the farm and Gran’ma Ben overhears Thorn and Fone discussing the dreams they’ve been having. This makes Gran’ma realize that it’s time to tell Thorn about her past, her parents and what her dreams mean. In the meantime, the giant rat creatures are gearing up for an attack.
Eyes of the Storm by Jeff Smith is the third book in the nine book Bone graphic novel series. This series is a lot of fun – it’s filled with action and humor. I think it holds appeal for adults and children alike. The series really does need to be read in order to understand it, though. The first two I read were in black and white but I was able to get this one in color. If you have a choice, I recommend getting the color – it made the graphics more enjoyable.
Oooh! You got it in color! Super. This was one of my favorites in the series.
I really want to take a look at these. They look interesting.
I have never read a graphics novel.. but all these reviews of amazing graphic novels makes me want to pick up one. If i pick this one up, I’ll remember to look for the color version!:)
For kids… what age range do you think this is geared towards?
I haven’t read this far in the series, but I enjoyed what I have read of it. I kind of prefer the black and white, I admit.
That guy reminds me of Caspar. I’ve got to get into graphic novels. I feel like I’m missing out on so many great reads.
