Mailbox Monday
January 14, 2013
Welcome to Mailbox Monday, a meme started by Marcia and hosted by Lori of Lori’s Reading Corner this month. We’ve had such warm weather here, it’s hard for me to believe it’s the middle of January. I think things are slowly starting to get back to normal around here – I hope that translates to more reading time for me. I found these books in my mailbox last week:
Monday
- To Sell is Human by Daniel H. Pink came from Penguin Audio
- Collateral Damage by Stuart Woods came from Penguin Audio
- Insane City by Dave Barry came from Penguin Audio
- The Last Runaway by Tracy Chevalier came from Penguin Audio
- Kinsey and Me by Sue Grafton came from Penguin Audio
Wednesday
- The Typewriter Girl by Alison Atlee came from Simon & Schuster
Thursday
- The Jane Austen Handbook by Margaret C. Sullivan came from Quirk Books
Friday
- The Aviator’s Wife by Melanie Benjamin came from Random House
Saturday
- Her by Christa Parravani came from Library Thing Early Reviewers
Did you find any goodies in your mailbox last week?

Will be looking out for your reviews on several of the books here. The Aviator’s wife, the JA Handbook, The Last Runaway
Aviator’s wife is one I’m dying to read or listen to
Lots of great audio books. Curious about the Last Runaway.
Looks like a great collection. I will also be looking forward to your reviews.
The Aviator’s Wife looks great, as does The Typewriter Girl. Hope you get more time for reading this week!
Those audio books look fantastic!!!
It’s been a long time since I’ve read anything by Tracy Chevalier. This new one sounds good! And I’ll be anxious to hear your thoughts on The Aviator’s Wife. I’ve always been a bit interested in the Lindbergh. My grandfather flew for PanAm and Lindbergh came to one of my grandparents’ Christmas parties.
You always have the most interesting collection of books on Mondays! I especially love getting LT books, because they are books usually not available elsewhere.
The Aviator’s Wife is definitely on my list of audiobooks I want to listen to. I’ll watch for your review.
Enjoy all your new books. I loved the Aviator’s Wife. Happy reading!
I got Kinsey & Me this week, too…for Sparky. The Aviator’s Wife is another one I’ve been wanting. Enjoy!
Here’s MY MONDAY MEMES POST
Wow, you are becoming the Audio Queen! I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts on The Aviator’s Wife. The Jane Austen Handbook looks perfect as a cheat sheet for aspiring writers. Enjoy!
Here Is My Memes Post.
I’d love your opinion on Stuart Woods books, I get such large donations of them in our library that I’m wonder who actually enjoys them, might help me with shelving. I personally do not enjoy his writing, but maybe you can give me an insight into this.
O so much goodness. I can’t wait for these reviews.
So many excellent titles. Happy reading, Kathy!
I’m reading The Aviator’s Wife and listening to The Last Runaway now and am enjoying both of them.
I have The Typewriter Girl as well and I am kind of excited about it!
A great bunch of books! I’m really looking forward to The Aviator’s Wife.
I love the look of The Typewriter Girl. Happy reading!

I got this same stack of audio…just need to figure out which ones I need to upload!
Ooh, Tracy Chevalier! I hadn’t seen that book before, I’ll have to check it out. Great stuff in your mailbox this week!
I see that all of these are audios, and I must say that I am glad that you are doing so many more audio reviews. I love audio now, and find that I can read so many more books by listening than I can by reading. For some reason, I am hooked on audio, and not reading very much on paper. I can’t wait to see how these are and if they would work for me!
Wonderful arrivals! I’m dying to read the Typewriter Girl!
Very nice stack! There are some good-looking ones I haven’t seen before.
Insane City looks like fun.
I cringed though at The Jane Austen Handbook, which is unfair of me as I saw only the title. But I can’t help feeling it’s yet another author piggy-backing on a great classic author and maybe trivializing her work.
Back to your typical full mailbox!
Wonderful selection of books. I look forward to The Aviator’s Wife. I’ve seen The Typewriter Girl around.
Love the sound of all of those audiobooks. Have fun!
The Aviator’s Wife looks good; I enjoyed Melanie Benjamin’s Take on Alice Liddel’s story in Alice I Have Been, so if this is as good you’re in for a treat!
You made up for a lonely mailbox last week.
I want THE TYPEWRITER GIRL…since I was a business/typing teacher, that would be perfect.
ENJOY all your books….thanks for stopping by my blog.

One day, I will enjoy audio books. Have a great week.
You got a great bunch of books! I like the title Typewriter Girl!
The Jane Austen Handbook is both fun and useful, and I’m glad it’s on my shelf. I can’t wait for your thoughts on The Aviator’s Wife. Happy reading!
The cover of Typerwriter Girl is gorgeous, a favourite for sure. I only heard of it today must check it out.
The Typewriter Girl looks interesting. Thanks to Downton I am becoming obsessed with last 19th century/early 20th England. Enjoy and have a good week!
What a great stack. Enjoy!
So many good titles! I really need to get more audio books but don’t seek them out enough. And it takes me so long to finish them too. I do need to make the effort though. Hope you enjoy your goodies!
I see your Mailbox Monday’s most weeks and I’ve been dying to ask a couple of questions: 1) How do you get so many books read? 2) What do you mean they arrived in your mailbox? (did you order, did you win??)
Just crazy curious…
The Typewriter Girl has such a beautiful cover. How do you keep up with all these books that come to you!
Great haul! Her intrigues me. I hope you enjoy The Aviator’s Wife has much as I did!
