Saturday Snapshot
October 13, 2012
Here’s another picture of Carl’s family. This one was obviously taken sometime near Christmas, probably in the 1960s – I suspect it may have gone out with their Christmas cards. Carl and his brother look entirely too calm for it to be Christmas day. Carl is the one on the right.
Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books. It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.

Lovely family photo.
Reminds me of how we always had a real tree every year, at home

Great photo, but I agree it can’t possibly be Christmas Day… they are waaaay too relaxed!
Looks a lot like some of my Christmas shots from those times….thanks for sharing!
I remember icicles on the Christmas tree!!! My mother loved LOVED them – but boy they were a pain to vacumn up after Christmas! Cute photo!
I agree with Sharon, the icicles really took me back. I remember my mother showing me how to drape the tinsel and my older brother of course, just tossing it carelessly on. Good times!
Yup! That’s the classic family photo I remember being a part of my childhood. Great flashback!
But…his mom could have said if they weren’t calm for the photo they wouldn’t get to open presents!
It’s a lovely classic Christmas photo!
Great family photo! I agree, they look so serious. Maybe they were anticipating opening their presents.
Wonderful, nostalgic photo, Kathy!
Ooh – look at all that tinsel!
We used to use that on our trees before kids and pets. Fun photo!
I love that photo, especially all of the tinsel! My Grandma Vyola loved tinsel!
I was noticing all the icicles, too. We never had them because my mother didn’t want the clean up!
Looks at those icicles just dripping off the tree. In addition to being adorable, they were such fun to drape on the branches. Here’s Mine
Awww. I love the rolled up jeans. Carl was a cute kid!
And look at all the tinsel! We used to absolutely dowse our tree in tinsel as well
Lovely family photo, and I think you’re right, they’re too calm for it to be Christmas, and it looks like the presents are all wrapped too.
They look a little happier than last week’s picture.
What a fun old photo! Love all that tinsel on the tree.
what a great photo! I miss tinsel. I can’t have it on my tree because of my cats, but it’s so pretty.
That is a great family photo! How wonderful that you have these! Does he remember taking it? A good reminder for me is usually photos of the gifts I got that year!
What the boys are wearing looks like what my brothers wore in pictures in that time period, same haircuts too.
The boys look so good and neat and tidy and clean – but very serious! It’s a nice glimpse of the past. No Snapshot from me this week, but I’m enjoying looking at everyone else’s.
Love it! I love seeing the decor and the clothes!
A sweet nostalgic Christmas photo!
I love how the boys are sitting so nicely, and everyone looks like they are just waiting on Santa to arrive. Great photo, Kathy!
Family photos are treasures. This is a beautiful picture, Kathy!
