Announcing the Tupelo Honey Cafe Recipe Contest
I love Tupelo Honey Cafe and make a point to eat there whenever I’m in Asheville. I have the Tupelo Honey Cafe cookbook and love it too. Let’s just say, the great folks at Tupelo Honey Cafe have never let me down. I am beyond excited to announce that they’re hosting a recipe contest. Here’s the details:
The ‘Tupelo Honey Cafe – Holiday Recipe Contest!’
At Tupelo Honey Cafe, we’re dedicated to marrying Southern tradition & ingenuity with vibrant, refashioned flavors. We currently serve two locations in Asheville, NC. A third Tupelo Honey Cafe opens this month in Knoxville, TN, and an additional location is slated to open in fall of 2013 in Johnson City, TN!
With the holiday season fast approaching, we’d love to see what fantastic festive fare you can come up with!
The Contest:
Do your tasty recipes have what it takes to impress Tupelo top-chef Brian Sonoskus? This holiday season we’re accepting creative and flavorful holiday-inspired recipes in three categories:
- Sides
- Desserts
- Leftovers!
The Holiday Recipe Contest runs from October 1st through November 16th, and all entries will be judged by Chef Brian Sonoskus and his hungry team of taste-testers! The three winners will be announced on December 3rd, each receiving a $200 gift card to be used at the Tupelo Honey Cafe Online Store, or at one of our restaurants.
Each week during the contest a drawing will also be held where one lucky participant will win a copy of our cookbook: Tupelo Honey Cafe: Spirited Recipes from Asheville’s New South Kitchen.
We can’t wait to see what delicious holiday helpings you’ve shared with us!
To keep up with additional news and offers please follow us on Facebook.
This is such a fabulous contest, I know everyone will want to enter! You can see the complete rules here and submit your entry here. Good luck!

Kathy that sounds fun!
When we were driving east, we stopped in Pueblo, CO where there was a pepper festival, which was great, but there were also stands for honey right out of the hive, and it was so intense and so much better than grocery store honey! I bet fresh makes a huge difference in recipes too!
Sounds like a great contest for experimental cooks…too bad I’m not one of them.
Sounds like a great contest. Thanks for the heads-up.
Oh too cool. Every time I hear “Tupelo Honey” I think of Van Morrison.
What a great contest! Thanks for sharing!
I have a great recipe that has won contests, but I am wondering if I can use it if the recipe doesn’t call for honey at all? Thanks for sharing this with us!
Recipes don’t have to contain honey – I hope you’ll enter yours!

That does sound like fun
OMG…I have this cookbook, too, mostly because of you…and our favorite shrimp and grits recipe comes from it…when we really start looking at houses in Asheville… Am determined to eat there!
What a fun contest…but my recipes are not that interesting!
Tupelo honey also makes me think of Van Morrison (I need to Google Tupelo). This cookbook sounds divine. Not sure I could create anything truly original and spectacular!
Oh boy this is the time of year for revisiting our favorite recipes.
What a fun contest! Their menu looks great, and they even have vegetarian items. I’ll see if I can come up with something.
Sounds fun!! I’m not very creative though.
Next time you’re coming to Asheville, drop me a line and maybe we can get together.
