Saturday Snapshot

July 14, 2012
tags: ,

Since today is Bastille Day, I wanted to use a picture from France for my Saturday Snapshot.  This statue of the Virgin Mary is on top of a basalt pillar in Le Puy-en-Velay and it was quite a feat to climb up to it.  The statue was made of 213 cannons captured from the Russian Army during the Siege of Sevastopol.  If you look closely, you can see Vance at the base of the statue.

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books.  It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.
