Saturday Snapshot
June 2, 2012
Carl and I were walking yesterday evening and saw this little fledgling in the park. It was doing a lot of chirping so I was afraid it had fallen out of the nest. After watching it a little while, we realized it can fly but was looking for some food from its parents.

You think they’ve left the nest, and there they are, still making demands…
Just like human youngsters…coming back over and over for help from the parents! lol
Thanks for sharing…and Kathy, Alec’s creation is a clothespin game at Magic Mountain (in Southern California). I’ve never seen it done…I just got the photo from him. Wish I had been there!
Glad you could visit my blog today, and enjoy your weekend.
Ahh, he’s a cutie! I hope he was able to realize the parental units now had better things to do.
Aww, so cute! We’ve got baby robins in a nest on our porch that must be close to getting out on their own. It’s so much fun watching them grow up!
Kathy – that is a lovely shot -well done.
Like my youngest, He can do things for himself but would prefer mummy to do them

I’m sure the mother is say: “will this parenting never end”. Great photo.
It’s a little liked the lost kid in the mall… just hoping mom and dad will show up, feed it and make it all better. Very sweet
Wow, he’s a plump little guy!
Aw, he’s a cutie! Yep, my little birds leave the nest too but always come around for food!
the brid’s early test of freedom. Were you surprised the bird didn’t fly when got near and stayed?
what a great picture…I love the lighting.
We had some robins nesting on our patio….they left the next this week… I worried about them too.
Lovely photo! What a sweet bird!
What a sweet little guy! (or gal!)
Awww, what a sweet baby! Great photo, Kathy!
He’s all plump and fluffy looking. The way he has his head squished back it’s like he’s trying to hide–hoping the large creature pointing things his way won’t notice him.
Here’s my Snapshot.
The fledgling robins are my favorite! They are so photogenic and just adorable. I’m sure the parents were close by and yup, you’re right, the chirping means “feed me, feed me!”.
I hope I get to see the birdies in the nest by my front door go off on their own.
We’ve got nests here and there on the garage lights, in the yew bushes near the workshop, in the cedar right by the back door … there are so many chittering parents when we walk by that it sounds like the birdhouse at the zoo! I love Springtime!
Oh how sweet.
Too cute!
That is precious! But he doesn’t look like he has missed too many meals!
We found a very little one under our neighbor’s tree and it didn’t make it. It was so sad but we didn’t want to touch it. The kids buried it and put a grave marker.
Aww, so cute! I’ve just flipped through some of your recent posts and I’m envious that you got to see Wiley Cash, even though I haven’t read his book (I’ve heard an awful lot of praise of it). He was at Square Books, tonight! We were just arriving home as he was speaking. So sad that I missed him.
Oh my goodness…she looks so sweet!
I would have never known what kind of bird it was, but it’s definitely very cute!
Cute!! I heard some baby birds chirping in the top of one of our trees. I hope they don’t fall out.
That is a wonderful photograph. I got pictures of a butterfly and a ladybird on my woodland walk, but didn’t manage to capture a bird on camera.
What a lovely little fellow.
Cutie!! Hope it got some food!!
Aww! We had some babies hatch in a nest on our deck but they moved out lickety split. Must have been on the run.
Oh, so adorable!
what a surprise little cutie!
