Saturday Snapshot

May 19, 2012

Carl had to go to Charleston last weekend and I asked him to take a few photos for me.  In between his meetings and fine dining he did manage to snap one or two photos.  This one’s of a typical Charleston home.  Isn’t it lovely?  I can dream of living there one day.

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books.  It’s easy to participate – just post a picture that was taken by you, a friend, or a family member and add your link on Alyce’s site.

That’s a beauty. I’ve never been to South Carolina but my husband has and he loved it there. He’d move in a heartbeat if I’d start packing. I’ll tell him I’ll go if he buys me a house like this! lol

I spent a day in Charleston with my family when I was too young to appreciate what a lovely place it is. I must get back there one day!

I love Charleston! It’s been many years since I went and I would love to go back. My favorite thing about the houses there are the huge porches — particularly those that are two stories!

Better have a few spare million to afford this one! Love the large porches.

Oh, that is really a beautiful house. I’ve never been to Charlston, I guess I’d better put in on my list.

Oh I love houses like that…I could live there in two seconds…I am going to look at Real Estate there now!

  19. May 19, 2012 4:40 pm

So beautiful. I was amazed by the architecture and color of the homes in Charleston when I visited last summer. (oh, happy to see Beth Hoffman’s note above about a novel in Charleston!)

That is beautiful! I know when my husband visited SC he said he could see retiring there because it was so nice.

Wow, that’s an amazing house, I too would love to see inside. It’s very well maintained, I’m sure it’s sensational.

What a grand old house … so many of the old ones didn’t survive the War … but Charleston was spared and boy, what a treasure!

  27. May 19, 2012 9:12 pm

    Gorgeous….love those old houses

  28. May 19, 2012 11:16 pm

I’ve never had the pleasure to visit Charleston, but looking at that home, I’d go just for house gawking!

  29. May 20, 2012 9:00 am

I love Charleston. We spent our 20th anniversary there. It was perfect.

  30. May 20, 2012 10:02 am

In our occasional discussions about moving far enough south to escape the harsh winters in PA, I always keep coming back to the idea of moving to the Charleston area. A house like this would be out of our price range to be sure, but all we want is a condo unit with everyone on one level and maybe a nice view. I would love the history of Charleston.

  31. May 20, 2012 10:02 am

What a dope! I meant everything on one level, not everyone!

  32. May 20, 2012 12:36 pm

Oh my gosh that is beautiful!

I guess if you can afford to live in a house like that, you can afford to hire someone to clean it!

I only went to Charleston once but fell in love immediately because of houses like this!! It is such a gorgeous little town!

I knew there was a reason I wanted to go to Charleston. Cool house.
