Saturday Snapshot
April 14, 2012
Remember the geese that were walking down the sidewalk a few weeks ago? I was out with Milou and I was amazed at how close they’d let us get. I took this photo with my phone.

Wow, that is close. I think I’m a little afraid of geese and ducks. I seem to have a memory of being chased by one when I was a little girl trying to share bread crusts. LOL
They look so regal! Wonderful closeup!
Here is my Saturday Snapshot post!
That is a wonderful picture!
They are so regal looking and I am also amazed that they let you get so close! Very cool picture!
They are really close. Didn’t they get annoyed at you?
Maybe they are looking for a handout.
They certainly look attentive too, don’t they? It’ll be fun to see how many goslings they end up having
Totally awesome shot! I do enjoy geese…and I envy you the lovely places you can enjoy on your walks
Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
The ducks in our pond on campus have started crossing the road and coming up to the parking lot in front of the new building I work in. They just walk around amongst the cars and then walk back across when they get ready. There are about 12 of them so it’s quite a site
wonderful shot.
They have such beautiful necks, making them look graceful.
Juast beautiful! I love this photo!
That sure is close :=)
That is an EXCELLENT shot, Kathy!
They look like they’re showing off for you! It’s amazing you were able to get this close and you got a beautiful photo!
I wouldn’t get too close, they can bite!
Beautiful birds and great picture
Nice shot. They almost look friendly. I’m going to guess that they haven’t built a nest yet because they are acting much too nice for Canada Geese!
There are geese at the wildlife park near to here and even though I am sure they see people regularly they are vicious things! I am not so sure they are supposed to be there. They just choose to be.
I love that photo!!!
I wonder if there will be babies soon…
one looks very regal with its long neck – great shot!
I’m sure they have been fed and wanted some bread leftovers! Every few months we get ducks that “stop over” at our pool on their way to somewhere. They request bread.
Nice shot! They look very stately!
Lovely shot. I always like a Canada Geese shot. Sadly I haven’t seen any since the 80s.
What an awesome phone shot Kathy. Love looking at geese –their messes not so much:0
I’m wary of geese because I’ve been chased by them before, but those are very nice looking (at least from this distance).
Be careful! Geese can be mean! But that’s a really terrific shot.
Great pic, Kathy. Interesting how close they let you get!
Wow, they are pretty fearless, eh?
Nice shot! I’m afraid of those as I’ve been chased and hissed at by them while at the park with my children
from your phone?! Wow! Great picture.
Great photo! I’m always leery of geese when they let you get close … I always wonder if I’ve strayed to close to a nesting site, in which case, they can be mean!
Glad you got such a nice photo!
I’m not surprised they let you get close–geese are tough! Why should they be afraid of you? I think I’d be more afraid of them…I’ve seen some bad-tempered geese.
I’m amazed they didn’t mug you!! That is close … especially with a dog in the picture!
Great shot! Very clear!
Oh goodness, I’m not fond of these type of geese. I visited a cemetery one day, and a flock of them came running after me. They sure are pretty, though.
Milou doesn’t get all crazy when he sees them? The Otter Pup goes nuts when she sees the rabbits in our yard, or a crow…or a squirrel.
Love to hear the latest on Milou’s new friends
Great picture! They never would have let Sam get that close! Lol
