Mailbox Monday

November 7, 2011

I can’t believe it’s November already – we’ll be thinking about the holidays before you know it.  I’m on my way home from my mom’s today.  Carl sent me updates on my mailbox and took this photo with his phone for me – sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to crop it in WordPress.  Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of  A Girl and Her Books and is being hosted at Mailbox Monday this month.    Here’s what I found in my mailbox:

Oh, I know the books that hit my heart. I want The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks and the Gregory Maguire. I’ve never read a Maguire book. Have always wanted to read one or more of his retold fairy tales. Have fun with your books.:::))))

The Informationist does sound good. The book on digital photography should be interesting. Have a great week, Kathy, and enjoy your new books.

  7. November 7, 2011 7:53 am

Oooh, enjoy Out of Oz! I’ve only read the first one in the series but I loved it.

  8. November 7, 2011 8:15 am

I’m so glad you mentioned The Informationalist. I wanted to read that, but thought it was The Revisionists, so I’m reading that instead, but now that I see that wasn’t what I thought I was reading…. (very confusing!)

  9. November 7, 2011 8:40 am

These all look good. I haven’t read any of the Oz series but I think I’d like it.

I have the Digital Photography book too. I was so happy to get that one… when it comes to photography books I get overly excited.

I had enjoyed the Maguire series up until the third book, and then I thought it went over the top. I still enjoy his standalones, but these books just don’t really snag me the way they used to. Lots of great things in the mail this week! Enjoy them all!

  18. November 7, 2011 11:27 am

I have been meaning to read those Maguire books for the longest time. My friend Margo, has raved about them and I really respect her opinion when it comes to books. I can’t wait to hear what you think about this latest and last (I believe) one.

  30. November 7, 2011 5:47 pm

  48. November 8, 2011 12:22 am

    Hi Kathy,

I have only read a couple of Nicholas Sparks books, but this sounds like a good one to add to my list.

I also quite like the sound of ‘The Informationist’ and that also seems to be popular with other bloggers who are already reading it.

I can’t say that it is a book I would be interested in reading particularly, but who can ignore the oh! so cute puppy on ‘The Puppy That Came For Christmas’?

    Enjoy your reading

  49. November 8, 2011 2:08 am
