Author event and giveaway: Celia Rivenbark
Celia Rivenbark has worked in the newspaper industry since she was 18, but didn’t start writing her syndicated humor column until the age of 40, after the birth of her daughter. She said she works best under pressure, so she writes the column the night before it’s due. If it doesn’t come together in an hour, she knows it’s not going to work, and she starts all over again. I can see why her column is so popular - she had everyone laughing at her recent Book Your Lunch event. Celia’s latest book, You Don’t Sweat Much For a Fat Girl, is her sixth book and her first to be on the New York Times Best Sellers list. I got her to autograph a copy for one lucky reader. I bet Celia was a hoot! I read one of her books and some of the essays were hilarious.
Celia is so funny! In one of her books, she describes remodeling her kitchen and the interactions between the construction guys. I was almost on the floor laughing.
