Mailbox Monday
September 12, 2011
Wow, another week has come and gone, and it’s time to take peek in my mailbox again. For the second week in a row, I was able to make a dent in my TBR pile! Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of A Girl and Her Books and is being hosted by Leah of Amused by Books this month. Here’s what I found in my mailbox last week:
Tuesday:
- Catherine the Great by Robert K. Massie came from Random House
Thursday
- Quick-Fix Vegan by Robin Robertson came from Andrews McMeel Publishing
- Learning to Breathe by Priscilla Warner came from Free Press
Did you get any new books last week?

You’re quick to start the new books! Hope you have another great week this week.
Wow, you already started (and finished them)? I’m impressed! Have a good week!
Oh, Catherine the Great looks great. I hope you enjoyed all your books! Happy reading.
Three good books especially the bottom one. Didn’t this author write about his son or someone suffering with Hemophiliac?? The book was published years ago, I think.
I read Learning to Breathe. You will enjoy it.
Catherine the Great looks like a good one!
Wow, they all look good! I’m not much for cooking, but Quick Fix sounds tempting! Thanks for visiting my blog…and enjoy your week!
All your new books look interesting and different.

Oh, I want that Massie book! And by the way, that thing Jenners said about you and contests cracked me up – so unbelievably true! LOLOL
Learning To Breathe sounds good! I spent part of the weekend organizing the books I do have including – emptying the boxes fro BEA (yes, they were still in boxes) – it felt like I received lots of new books that way as they were in the BEA boxes including a couple I have wanted but forgot I had already: Fury and GLOW
Thanks for commenting on my blog, Kathy. I’m looking forward to reading Catherine the Great. Although I was a Russian major in college, I’m woefully lacking in knowledge on Russian history. Have a great week!
Catherine the Great sounds absolutely wonderful but then most books set in Russia gets my attention. Have a great week, Kathy, and enjoy your new books!
Catherine The Great sounds good to me since I don’t know too much about her. Even though I ma not a vegan, Quick Fix Vegan sounds good. I am always looking for new healthy recipes. Enjoy your loot!

I will probably love the yoga book and I’m so close to being vegan… I’m not sure if I can really give up cheese!
Have a wonderful week!
Oh, I hope you enjoy Catherine the Great! I know historical fiction is not your top genre, but perhaps this just might be the book to turn that around for you!

I also received a copy of CATHERINE THE GREAT. I am wild to read it.
I have a feeling that you read your books in a timely manner and you don’t let them pile up…and spill over and fall off shelves…

Quick Fix Vegan looks good. I’m trying to eat less meat and dairy.
Vegan can be tough so I’m interested in your thoughts on the cook book.
I will admit to having a slight crush on Catherine the Great so i think I need to read that book. Have a great week!
I’ve had Catherine the Great on my list for a bit, hope you enjoy it!
Jason and I are taling about going vegan, but I’m pretty sure it will take several years to fully switch over.
Catherine the Great sounds good. Enjoy the books.
I tried to comment from yesterday on the blog and just couldn’t. I hope the problem with my blogger goes away soon.
I bet it’s nice to read that book at the bottom. =) Catherine, the great! =)
Like the Quick Vegan Cookbook – need to check that out.
Too bad I don’t have more time before I fly to Seattle tomorrow – “Learning to Breathe” sounds like a must read before I get on a plane tomorrow after not having flown in 5+ years! I’ll just have to wing it! HA HA!!
I have read some of Massie’s other books (on the Romanovs) and really liked them, so I am interested in Catherine the Great.
I could use LEARN TO BREATHE … now! I imagine that, as a reader, I could learn a lot from the author’s yearlong quest.
Good for you. Making a dent in the TBR pile.
I bet Catherine the Great will be a good read!
