Author event and giveaway: Rebecca Rasumssen
I can’t remember when I first got to know Rebecca Rasmussen on Twitter, but it’s been a while and I’ve been crazy about her from the start. I was beyond excited when I found out that she was coming to my area for a Book Your Lunch event. I bought my ticket as soon as I could, so I could sit at her table. Rebecca was sweeter and even more adorable than I expected. I loved visiting and chatting with her and I think everyone in attendance enjoyed listening to her speak.
Rebecca’s tour ended the day after she was here and then she was heading back to St. Louis to move. I was exhausted just thinking about it. I was excited to hear that Rebecca has finished her next book and hope we don’t have to wait too long to read it.
I got Rebecca to autograph a copy of her debut novel, The Bird Sisters, for one lucky reader. To enter to win an autographed copy of THE BIRD SISTERS, by Rebecca Rasmussen, simply fill out the entry form. Contest is open worldwide. I will use random.org to determine the winner. Contest ends at midnight EST Sunday, July 3, 2011. Winners will be announced on Monday, July 4, 2011. Comments are welcome (and appreciated) but will not get you an entry in the contest.

Thanks for the chance !
Oh you got to meet Rebecca! I am so envious. I am going to enter, because I never got my copy. ;-(
Oh boy, I want to read THE BIRD SISTERS by REBECCA RASUMSSEN. I feel as though this is my last chance to make that win. What should I do to make it happen? Hmmm, I could wish upon a star tonight. Yes, that’s it. I’ll look up at the stars tonight and find a really shiny one. Say to the star please send me a copy of THE BIRD SISTERS from Rebecca R. I want to know more about Milly. How must it feel to want children and can’t have any children? I can’t imagine.
I am a change of life baby. So all of my relatives were much older than me. My Cousin Ruth and Cousin Dorothy never had children. In my teens I focused on those two women. I literally prayed that God would allow me to have children. Thankfully, my husband and I did have a family. Now we have grandchildren. Still, I’ve never forgotten women who want children and it doesn’t happen. Well, I’ve probably gone off track here. Really, I’m scared to leave the page with the book on it. It might fly in another person’s hands. Well, you know where I’ll go tonight. I’m going outside to make a wish upon a star. Is that a song???
Thank you Rebecca and Bermudaonion for giving me chance to win THE BIRD SISTERS.
OMG, didn’t mean to write that much. Excuse me. lol.
Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for making this an international giveaway! I am waiting for this book to show up here!
That is so awesome you were able to meet the author! The book sounds great! Thanks for hosting this giveaway – cheers!
She does seem so lovely on twitter! And you just have the most amazing authors come to your area! The closest they ever get to me is Phoenix, and that’s almost a 3 hour trip each way, which isn’t so doable when they’re speaking at night!
I’d love to add this to my summer stack!
MJ

I met Rebecca on Twitter, too – I invited her to come to Columbia, MO to give a reading just after her book was published. She is an absolute delight and I loved meeting her and her reading was wonderful. I have been saving THE BIRD SISTERS since then but am now deep into it, and adoring every word of it.
