Saturday Snapshot
April 30, 2011
This is a picture of my mother’s father. I’m not sure when it was taken, but he passed away in 1938, so I do know it was taken before then. If I had to guess, I’d say it was taken in the 1930′s. I just love his hair and wonder if it was the style of the day.

The mustache is pretty dashing, too!
Oh, he has such soulful eyes! What a handsome man! Thanks for sharing this, Kathy!
I have seen photos of my grandfather with a similar hair style. Those pictures were also taken in the early 1930s so it was probably the style. I really enjoy the vintage pictures you post.
What a dapper, clearly thoughtful man! Is that wax on the tip of his mustache? Thanks so much for sharing this.
Wow! Love the hair and the mustache !
Kathy, I’ve loved the pictures you are sharing of your relatives. Very nice. You’ve inspired me to try this too when I finally get my stuff unpacked. Not until then though.
Your grandfather was quite a handsome man!
You have a very handsome grandfather! It would be interesting to see his hair from both sides – I love seeing the different styles of other eras.
How distinguished looking! Sure wish I had some old photos of my family.

Thanks for sharing your family pictures. I’ve been enjoying them. I don’t know what it is about photographs from the past, but everyone always looks so soulful, as if they are thinking something profound. Maybe it’s because people didn’t smile?
