Mailbox Monday
December 27, 2010

Wow, the last Monday of 2010 is upon us. I’m sorry the weekend is over, but I always look forward to seeing what appeared in everyone’s mailboxes. Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and will be hosted by Jenny of Let Them Read Books for the month of December. We were out of town for a few days, so my Tuesday mailbox contains three days worth of books. Here’s what I found in my mailbox last week:
Tuesday
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid set by Jeff Kinney was a win from Bookin’ with Bingo
- The Union Quilters by Jennifer Chiaverini was a win from Penguin
- Guilt by Association by Marcia Clark came from Mulholland Books
- Ivy + Bean: What’s the Big Idea? by Annie Barrows and Sophie Blackall was a win from Stiletto Storytime
- The Good Daughter by Jasmin Darznik came from Hachette Books
- Amaryllis in Blueberry by Christina Meldrum came from Simon & Schuster
I’ve been out of town since Thursday, and will list the books that came at the end of the week in next week’s post.
Did you get any new books last week?

I only got my Christmas books, but I’m not going to complain
Another great week at the mailbox under your belt!
Enjoy your new books! I got some new ones, but I didn’t have time to post! Hope you had a Merry Christmas!
Enjoy Kathy!
I really like the Quilting books — they take place right around Central PA. I also thought the Ivy & Bean book was great too.
I’d like to see what The Good Daughter is about.
There is some good potential in your latest haul. I actually only received a collection of Polish tales, and then I also bought a book about the Harry Potter movies for the family. Nothing else! Not that I needed anything else frankly. I’m good for a few years. I am about to start And the Pursuit of Happiness by the way..
Another great mailbox! My SD would love the wimpy kid win! Hope you’re having a relaxing time away!
Great mailbox Kathy!
I have read a few of the quilter books and enjoyed them, and I had checked out The Good Daughter recently from the library, but had to return it before I got to it, lol.
Hope you are enjoying your time away
Interested to see what you think about Guilt by Association.
Can’t remmeber the last time I got a book *coughs* ok 2 weeks ago
The xmas mail has taken precedence
Enjoy your new books! I got a new one for Christmas from my mother, written by my Elementary School guidance counselor! I also received some books in the mail last week, and may get some more today, so I am waiting until after mailtime today to post what I’ve received this week
Oh, lots of nice stuff in there this week! I am particularly interested in Amaryllis in Blueberry and will be looking forward to that review! I hope you enjoy them all!
Nice wins! I like the quilting series and need to catch up on them. Enjoy your books Kathy!
Good ones! Hope you enjoy all of those!
Here is my Monday: Mailbox/What Are You Reading? post!
I love the Quilting books but I’m way behind in the series. I can’t wait to start catching up. I really want to read The Good Daughter, I look forward to your review.

Another nice mailbox. The Good Daughter sounds promising… that one can go on my tbr list.
Enjoy all of your new books!
Well, I’m SUPPOSED to be on blog vacation…BUT couldn’t resist coming in to comment.
My kids love the Wimpy Kid series.
This week I got the following 3 books (not doing any posts this week):
- Dear Sparkle by Sparkles the Cat (upcoming Pump Up Your Book Tour)
- Small Wars by Sadie Jones (upcoming TLC Book Tour)
- Lastingness: The Art of Old Age by Nicholas Delbanco (Hachette Books)
Enjoy your books and Happy New Years!
Great load this week! Enjoy your books
What a wonderful listing of books! Enjoy them Kathy and have a great week!

The Good Sister looks good. Can’t wait to see what you think!!
Enjoy your books. Have a Happy New Year!
Now that is quite an interesting assortment…my new books were all Kindled…so they came in a virtual mailbox…but I got…
Tyger, Tyger…from netgalley
To My Senses by Alexandra Weiss
I have read the first book in the quilting series. They are good but I just haven’t had the time to read the rest of them. I have Amaryllis in Blueberry also. It looks like it should be pretty good. Have a Happy New Year!
I used to read the Quilter books but haven’t read one for a couple of years at least and have fallen behind in the series. Must get back to that series.
I couldn’t resist. Had to look up and read about Amaryllis in Blueberry first. I thought the title would belong to a children’s book. Had no idea the plot would remind me, as told, of Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I really like the Mary names. Reading about missionaries overseas seems to always remain interesting. I would like this book. I like all of your books.
My mailbox is in the sidebar.

I so can not wait to read the Union Quilters!! I have it on hold at my library and anxiously await my turn…enjoy your books
That’s a great mailbox! I just figured out that Bebe Boy James has all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books except for #2 (Roderick Rules) – how did that happen?! Oh! And I recently saw a blurb for Dork Diaries – like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but with a girl! Cool!
The Ivy and Bean books look so good; I don’t think Bebe Boy James would read them, though (too girly for him), and the oldest grandbebe girl is only 4, so I guess I have to wait a while.
The Good Daughter and Amaryllis in Blueberry are two that I’m keeping my eye on; I think I may want to add them to my own shelves.
Enjoy all of the new reads!
I did not realize it is going to be the last Monday
Enjoy your reads
and I am hoping you will like that Wimpy kid
Happy reading!
Looks like you got some great books…happy reading.
I ordered a couple books this week, sequels to books I have finally got around to reading, but none have come to my doorstep – not even for Christmas! Well…. other than the Nook (SSSQQQUUUEEE!!!)
I’m cheating today… visiting to what goodies you have. Oh my:)
another winning mailbox. happy reading
Great books Kathy! I have Amaryliss in Blueberry too. It sure has a pretty cover!
The Girl just loves the Diary of a Wimpy kid books. Happy reading!
Enjoy your new books!
I just read the Wimpy Kid book 5, and oh my god! What a hilarious book! I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
The Good daughter looks really good to me. It’s on my TBR. Enjoy your books! I got some really good stuff in my Mailbox too.
My Little One just discovered the Wimpy Kid series and just loves them!
