Mailbox Monday

December 27, 2010

Wow, the last Monday of 2010 is upon us.  I’m sorry the weekend is over, but I always look forward to seeing what appeared in everyone’s mailboxes.   Mailbox Monday was created by Marcia of The Printed Page and will be hosted by Jenny of Let Them Read Books for the month of December.    We were out of town for a few days, so my Tuesday mailbox contains three days worth of books.  Here’s what I found in my mailbox last week:

Tuesday

I’ve been out of town since Thursday, and will list the books that came at the end of the week in next week’s post.

Did you get any new books last week?

    Enjoy Kathy!

I really like the Quilting books — they take place right around Central PA. I also thought the Ivy & Bean book was great too.

  6. December 27, 2010 7:02 am

I’d like to see what The Good Daughter is about.

  7. December 27, 2010 8:32 am

There is some good potential in your latest haul. I actually only received a collection of Polish tales, and then I also bought a book about the Harry Potter movies for the family. Nothing else! Not that I needed anything else frankly. I’m good for a few years. I am about to start And the Pursuit of Happiness by the way..

    Great mailbox Kathy!
I have read a few of the quilter books and enjoyed them, and I had checked out The Good Daughter recently from the library, but had to return it before I got to it, lol.
Hope you are enjoying your time away :)

I have read the first book in the quilting series. They are good but I just haven’t had the time to read the rest of them. I have Amaryllis in Blueberry also. It looks like it should be pretty good. Have a Happy New Year!

I used to read the Quilter books but haven’t read one for a couple of years at least and have fallen behind in the series. Must get back to that series.

  27. December 27, 2010 4:58 pm

I couldn’t resist. Had to look up and read about Amaryllis in Blueberry first. I thought the title would belong to a children’s book. Had no idea the plot would remind me, as told, of Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. I really like the Mary names. Reading about missionaries overseas seems to always remain interesting. I would like this book. I like all of your books.

My mailbox is in the sidebar.

I so can not wait to read the Union Quilters!! I have it on hold at my library and anxiously await my turn…enjoy your books :D

  29. December 27, 2010 6:07 pm

That’s a great mailbox! I just figured out that Bebe Boy James has all of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books except for #2 (Roderick Rules) – how did that happen?! Oh! And I recently saw a blurb for Dork Diaries – like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but with a girl! Cool!

The Ivy and Bean books look so good; I don’t think Bebe Boy James would read them, though (too girly for him), and the oldest grandbebe girl is only 4, so I guess I have to wait a while.

The Good Daughter and Amaryllis in Blueberry are two that I’m keeping my eye on; I think I may want to add them to my own shelves.

Enjoy all of the new reads!

  30. December 27, 2010 10:38 pm
